I’ve said the following on Twitter but will repeat my thoughts on here.
I said at 1-1 that CC had made a mistake in not naming experienced players on the bench.
I’ve also said that when you consider we are running a glorified meat raffle for our shirt sponsorship every week that you would have thought we might take cup seriously with prize money and possible Tv money at stake. So when PH bemoans the lack of money because of covid then someone point out to him we didn’t give the FA cup a chance.
On the game, cracking goal by Rowe, defence is like the first team...leaky.
Duhaney..shocking especially covering for the winner.

The reason for all the changes is because of the lack of depth with the first team squads. That's down to big Phil. Carlos has had no room for manoeuvre with his starting XI, picking the same team since the debacle at Bournemouth.
A lot of the reserves aren't good enough. A lot of the kids have potential but are nowhere near ready yet.

So what did we all think of our new faces?
I thought Vallejo was going to be an absolute disaster after the first couple of touches of the ball he had. But no. He turned in an accomplished performance after that and looked good on the ball and was probably Man of the Match.
I like the look of young Pat Jones, I've mentioned before. Tricky little lad, with a fair turn of pace. Set up a great early chance for Phillips and then we scored from the resulting corner. Got into the box and should've had a penalty in the second half. Don't know what the ref was looking at. Probably thought he'd gone down too easily but a straight arm in the face is a penalty any day of the week. I hope he gets more game time in the coming weeks.
Phillips started well and was unlucky not to score from that early chance. A few minutes later he won a header and then ran on to it to set up another great chance for somebody who I can't remember. Didn't see much of him after that though. But that seems to be the way with Town lone strikers in these last few seasons.
Muzzy Olungunju looks another promising one. Daft early booking though hampered his game, although stats say he made the most tackles in the game. Looked assured on the ball, but Plymouth didn't press him as much as they ought to have with that early booking. Probably needs a loan out for the rest of the season.
Crichlow looked good again and added goal scoring to his achievements.
I was looking forward to seeing Camara and Diarra playing but they came on too late really. Would've liked to see them both on at half time. Camara did one piece of magic with the ball that the commentator let go without mentioning.
I was slightly disappointed with Austerfield and Daly in midfield. Thought Plymouth dominated that area.
Jackson looked good when he came on and got a couple of crosses in. Would say he's a better prospect than Jaden Brown, but then Jaden had one of his better games until being subbed.
As for the Argyle, Danny Mayor has given us problems before, particularly when he was at Preston. Surprised his career has been mainly in the lower leagues. Jephcott didn't look like somebody who's got 14 goals already this season and I don't think big Phil will be getting his cheque book out to bring him here.

Player review from moi
Hamer- probably will feel he could have done better for the first, the other 2 not so much. Behind schofield now for me
Duhaney- crap. Not gonna make it here, league 1 is probably his peak, he's what 22/23 and looks to be regressing faster than his hairline. Looked out of depth yesterday
Olagunju- this season is too soon for him, looked shakey when he was attacked, bailed duhaney our a few times, but atm his loan spell at welling is where he's at atm
Crichlow- steady and capable, think he needs an experienced head alongside him atm tho, seemed to get caught out more as he tired.
Brown- another who will find league 1 as his level, probably higher up than duhaney and may find his way back to the championship via promotion. Looks athletic but just seems to be lacking something
Vallejo- looked rusty at the start but grew into the game and looked to have a bit of quality to his game, could easily play in dm or as a cb alongside sarr if we wanted to
Austerfield- looks to be a bright prospect, would like to see him alongside a hogg and obrien though to guide him and help him, but looks like he'll be a good player in years to come
Daly- worrying, has the ability, has the potential but in what was supposed to be his break through season, he's struggling to get his foot into games. Yesterday seemed to pass him by. Needs a good loan to a donny or somewhere to get game time and help with his physical development
Rowe- as a full back or wingback, no thanks, as a winger he's got every chance. Has a bit of pace and a bit flair, took his goal really well. Arguably needs a loan to keep playing and to help him become stronger too, especially now we have grant and Aarons.
Phillips- didn't get much service but was making good runs that I think an eiting would pick out better, came close with a pot shot before we got our first, long term successor to Campbell yes, do we need someone now, maybe, but I would like to see him start or get longer in the first team
Jones- looks to have something about him and coming back from injury he faded in the second half. Bit of strengthening to him over the summer and next season we may see a lot more of him.
Subs- can't really remember who came on

The kids as a whole looked ok, again its not them i blame for the defeat.
Most of them would benefit from a loan spell somewhere L1.L2 or Conference. The big question is because of our style of play would they benefit more by going out on loan or staying and playing in the B-Team?
As for the first team, we have a load of injuries but i don't buy into the fact that none of them was fit enough for a place on the bench. However i feel we need at least another 2 signings as a minimum before the end the this months window
