Hibs v Dundee United, Sat 19 December, KO 3.00pm
#1
This is a decent fixture for Hibs to follow on to after the exertions of Tuesday night in reaching the Betfred Cup semi-final - time to forget about that future Hampden confrontation v Saint Johnstone and fully focus on taking on the Tangerines and beating them. Lets keep this winning run "ticking over" and make it a good habit with another 3 pts "in the bag". I'm hoping Kevin Nisbet will be back up front alongside Doidgy but it may be too soon. Hibs defence needs no interference at the mo but should Gogic be given an "anchor role" in front of our CBs?? Hard to call but I'd opt to leave him out and stick with the positive mid formation that is attaining good results up front. C'mon Hibs!

This could be a tricky game as United were far better than Rangers in the first quarter last week. The best starter will probably win the game. A solid performance and a 1 goal win would satisfy me.

If I was JR I'd focus on Connolly's CB position. I think Hibs could exploit that defensive position with the appropriate attacking formation and instructions.

This may well be a tough one, we did well to get the points up there but I think Utd would have got something from sevco if the rules of the game had been applied to the Colombian Michelin man.

I'd imagine Gogic will be a stick on to play at the Sevcodome which will be suited to his game, so I'd leave it as is for the moment and let halberg and magennis start ?

I think Hibs can win this match if they can focus on a couple of United's defensive positions which IMO are there to be exploited with a hi-press strategy but, as NH has just commented, we don't know what Hibs team will show up today. Remember that Hibs can take up the second place position in the Scot Prem again if they win this match - that is the target and motivation to do well. One word of warning is beware of McNulty as we have previously seen ex Hibs players who return to ER Stadium and score goals against us.

Nesbit starts up top with Doidge. Gogic on the bench.

1 nil up at HT. Been a pretty good game so far, both sides have had their chances but we have been playing pretty well.

How we are only 1-0 up here I dont know....

Not good enough in front of goal........shooting practise this week please. Had enough chances to win it easilly.

We cannot cope when teams press us high and then in reverse don't know how to press. Their goal, although late, was coming once they started to press us.

2 points lost , but that is Hibs, as Bouncing says, we have seen it many times before and will continue to do so. Doh
