Just got back from Turkey today and to be honest I'm surprised Bilic is still in a job...

I found a bar in Cappadocia to watch the game and I really wish I hadn't been able to. We have had some woeful performances this season, but that took the cake.

Just can't get my head around the selection. Robbo came on and changed the game against Brighton, so for me he was a nailed on starter. Yet Bilic picks the same XI that were absolutely shocking first half vs Brighton.

We might as well revert to something similar to Pulisball (not so defensive, but at least have more aerial threat), because it's not like this bunch of spineless tossers are even entertaining us is it?

We never look like we're going to score a goal TBH.

I'd bring in Austin, move Grant to the wing, push Ajayi into midfield and bring in Kipre or Bartley (Should've been Hegazi). I'd also put O'Shea in at right back and Robbo at right midfield.

Drop Grady, drop Pereira, drop Krov or Livermore.

Then every free kick or corner, I'd throw it straight into the box and let the opposition defend against all of those aerial threats. I'd stop tip tapping around with short corners and Pereira and Krovi playing together like a pair of under 14's in the garden and start playing professional football. Start trying to grind out some results to stay in this league.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Villa stayed up last year because after lockdown Smith reverted to grinding results out. Then after staying up, they have added a bit of flair. That's what we need to do. This team wasn't even good enough to win games in the Championship after lockdown so why it is being persisted with at this level is beyond me. Slav proves week in week out to be tactically inept and blind to the fact we are a soft touch.

I really do want him to prove me wrong, but every passing week is a week closer to the lowest points tally in Premier League history. With Bilic's selections, I'm convinced we will not win a game.

This is the line-up I'd like to see in the next match...

                                                                    Johnstone
                                                   O'Shea    Kipre      Ajayi    Townsend/Gibbs
                                                                Gallagher   Krov
                                                     Robinson     Pereira     Grosicki
                                                                        Grant

Is Grosicki even available? I know he wasn't named in the 25 man squad.  If he's not eligible, that's a huge mistake!!
I don't know how these things work...  Can you be drafted in to the squad after naming the 25 man team??

Also wasn't really impressed with Ivanovic, so have put Kipre in there... would like to see what he and Semi could do.

What ever team we put out against Spurs will probably struggle... But looking to the future fixtures I think this line-up could work.
Maybe chuck Grady in for Grosicki when he figures out he should run with the ball a bit sometimes, instead of trying a silly little
trick or flick every time he gets it....

Just my opinion...  And they're like as*h*les... (everybody's got one) ..   Thumb up

I don't think so, unless there are 'extreme circumstances' or similar wording. I seem to remember once a club having an injury crisis, leaving them with no goalkeeper - I'm thinking they had to apply to the PL for permission to override the rule.
Or am I wrong? Huh

I believe Grosicki was added to the squad when Forest failed with their appeal to sign him.

My team would be:

Johnstone

O'Shea
Ivanovic
Bartley
Gibbs

Robbo
Livermore
Ajayi
Gallagher
Grant

Austin

A bit radical, but frankly I think we need more fight and a plan B (i.e. the possibility of scoring a goal in the air). Periera and Grady might well be our most talented players, but they are walking around disinterested, so I'd be looking to drop them. Krovinovic could possibly be interchangable with Livermore, but I'd pick Jake for that bit more fight. Depending or not if we need legs at the back, Ivanovic could possibly switch with Ajayi, but against Kane I think it would be better to use Ivanovic there. That said, I do think he would make an excellent defensive midfielder.
