Scot Cup semi-final: Hibs v the Scot footie bemoaners, Sat 31 Oct, KO 5.00pm

So this semi-final at Hampden Park approaches ever closer with Hibs holding the favourite's tag this time. However, this is a one-off game to get to a final and sadly we can't attend this match or indeed witness the eventual final if the guys manage to get there. My perception of this latest derby match is that Hibs should be stronger than Hertz at this particular time because the guys are well into this footie season, doing well and are fully match fit and competitive as opposed to Hertz starting late and playing lesser opponents. IMO Hibs biggest enemy is complacency as well as not converting scoring opps often enough. However, our mid to back defence is solid enough and JR must use that strength to counter Hertz defence particularly in central positions and on their flanks. I also want to see a hi-tempo approach and fully test out their fitness levels. Two up top? IMO yes because it is a cup tie and a belief to succeed plus a willingness to win this semi-final with the requisite goals should tie in nicely with "two up top". Lastly, Robbie Neilson is Hibs fans' "lucky mascot" for winning a Scottish Cup - LETS KEEP IT THAT WAY!!! Thumb up

Hopefully Ross gets the tactics spot on this time and lets us play to our strengths.

I want this mob pumped.

Aye! That would be a bonus! Then I can "tweak" my Sb member's name to accommodate that score line lol and upset a few more of these "background" observing Hertz fans who cannae tolerate the memory of their beloved team being so comprehensively "pumped" by such record score lines!! Oh the good memories on that score, if you pardon the pun!! Laugh

FT 1-2 (after ET) and IMO Hibs "throw away" an opp to get to a Scot Cup final in a game that was attractive to any impartial viewer but losing to a bunch of Scottish footie bemoaners who even managed to cheat their way into the final and should be nowhere near that Hampden final whatsoever if the word "deserving" was gonna be used!! So where did it go wrong? Well, for one thing Nisbet had a nightmare of a match from a striking point of view - I did not want to read about any Craig Gordon miracle show whatsoever!!! Hibs have history when it comes to this kinda hard luck story with Gordon attached to it and you must take the scoring opps when they arise!! That great Gordon save from Gordon? You "bury" a great cross baw like that one - the goalie disnae get near it if you have the "bottle" to score it properly!! Nisbet's pk miss? Well what happened to "hard and low" on a wet pitch and with a wet baw??? In the lad's defence, I gather his dad passed away in the past week - absolute shit for any young lad and I wonder if he should've played at all? As for Doidge - how can he not head a baw properly???? Enough good ammunition provided and, just like in previous matches, he can't do it often enough!! Now lets move on to the refereeing of this match!! From about 10 mins onwards I had to question Golum's shit "stop-start" way of officiating a match - right up Hearts street btw because that is the way they play!!!!! Thumb down Foul after foul after foul - f###### awful refereeing!!! And then I'm observing a stonewall pk denied Hibs when Halkett clearly hauled down Doidgy in the pen box and Colum clearly decided to ignore it, leave the decision to a goal line ref named Madden, a Rangers supporting c### who was never gonna give Hibs this pen - unbelievable in the fact the bbc dwelled on Boyly's attempt to get a pk on their bye-line but then conceded later that there was no dubiety that this was a pk!!!!! Thumb down Then, to "rub salt into the wounds", Golum awards that "nothing pen" against McGinn in extra time with 9 mins remaining - a clear dive, a cheat's desperate simulation to win a Scottish Cup semi-final and he has got away with it - YEP: YOU, YOU CHEATING HEARTS BASTARD WHITE!!! AND YOU KNOW IT!!! What reputable ref would ever give this kinda crucial pk award in such a big, well-contested match with 9 mins remaining anyway???????????? And with a goal line ref assistant who must have seen this "dive" head on from his standing position behind the goal - why no comment/interference in the same way that most Euro refs would do it!!!!! I'm totally stumped how two ref officials in decent positions could get this wrong!!!! Was it a match fix to get Hearts into a final?????? I'd like to ask Bobby Madden that question after showing him the video replay of Halkett hauling down Doidgy!! Lastly, I wanna make a brief comment re Jack Ross's end of match shaking of hands etc as though nothing had happened!!!!!?????? Give me Neil Lennon any day of the week if when dealing with a highly questionable big game result like this one - MAKE A SCENE JACK, KICK UP F#### WITH THESE REF OFFICIALS OR IS THE FOOTIE NOT THAT SERIOUS ANY MORE, so just walk way eh!!! They'll be absolutely smirking after pulling off another cheating scandal that, from my Hibs perspective, they still seem to get away with down the years and it somehow doesn't "balance out" in the way that it should as my belief always lies with having the better players and instilling a high motivation to win these matches. We did it in 2016 and we should've been playing in another final again although I will say there was never any chance of Hibs winning it!! The same applies to these cheating c#### who Hibs really made them look better than they actually are - both flanks dodgy as well as their CB positions and Celtic and the Dons will be "clasping their hands" in anticipation to try to reach that final because there will be only one winner and it aint gonna be Hearts who I hope are actually given an absolute "pumping" for cheating their way to a Scottish Cup final that they should never have been near. They are good at this shit and it would be nice to see a retrospective punishment at least meted out by the SFA ref panel for simulation and highlight the fact that was a f###### disgraceful no pen that should've been identified by competent ref officials!!!

Hibs just weren't good enough on the day. The usual squandered chances and the MOM Craig Gordon says it all.

Another Derby in a lomg list of Derbies lost, from finals to semi finals to big Derby games at Tynie we just don't do it, they want it more and always will do until Hibs make massive changes in the way they approach and coach there players for these games, we should be a team of horrible bastards and not soft sugar puffs that we currently are. Collum and his refereeing freinds where awful ut that doesnt take away from the fact we couldn't put the ball in the xxxx net again, sickening result.

Pretty usual story when it comes to playing Hearts, we just don't have the killer touch when we are in a position to put the game to bed. Out fans are once again stunned by a Willie Colum decision that killed us off, White took a dive and conned the ref - or is it a case that the fear is just ****e at his job.
We need to refocus quickly because the season still gives us a lot to play for including the very realistic chance to get back into Europe.
Today has been a sickener, some of us will be suicidal if Hearts go on and win the cup.

Come on! We lost to a cheating bastard's winning goal and that's a fact even though we could've played better!!! How the f### can we possibly avoid that kinda shit seriously?????? We need good, impartial ref officials - did we have that provided today???? A Golum/Madden master class in shit refereeing AGAIN!!! Also big questions raised in lotsa Hibs fans' circles re JR's decision to even field Nisbet after such a tragic loss to his family. And why did he field Magennis who has no Embro Derby experience whatsoever? What a "sitter" he missed in the 1st half when Hibs were well on top but persisted in following up their squandering habit of missing good scoring opps!!! A cute dummy on a wet pitch and slot the baw in the far corner with a bit of coolness and quality v a team that is not that good, they were "leggy", never mind the idea they want it more etc. They also won with a cheat's goal - review it on a video replay and acknowledge that fact!! It is a slightly different scenario but I'd still call it another Meekings' moment (Celtic v ICT in a previous semi-final a few years ago) when another disgraceful ref and goal line AR ignored a crucial hand/arm ball on Meekings' own goal line - a shocker!! This Hearts pk incident is a clear simulation and I wanna see the SFA ref panel act on it because that is part of their job and this guy has cheated his team into a Scot Cup final, compliments of a couple of "dodgy" or incompetent ref officials!! IMO if that retrospective action is not taken then there is no hope for Scot footie TBF unless we acquire VAR!! It is not gonna take us to that final but I want this cheat/cheating incident highlighted anyway - absolutely right to do this and highlight that fact!! That cheating incident has cost Hibs a final place and quite a lotta money esp with no fans being allowed in to attend these matches (a huge revenue loss on the attendance side btw).

I must comment re that end line - Hearts win that Xmas final? Seriously??? Scottish football would be a "laughing stock" if they get anywhere near winning that trophy, certainly based on my observation of that average Hearts team tonight. Study the bookies' odds alone on that score and Hearts will be deemed rank outsiders and rightly so. I'd suggest to the winning manager of tomorrow's semi-final to just study the Hibs match and see how easily you can slice through their defence from set piece situations to proper, fast one-touch and two-touch moves with players who are a class above what Hearts have to offer at the current time!! Hibs just didn't do the job tonight for various reasons (incl dodgy ref officials may I add!!). The only way they will win this Scot Cup final is if similar poor ref officials are gonna "fix" that final and lets hope that doesn't happen for a second time esp during a period when I'm observing some of the weirdest things going on in society, politics and sport!!!

We've seen this movie before chaps, didn't take our chances and got punished for it. The referee was a joke the night though and gave 2 penalties that weren't pks and tried to 'even it up', whilst denying us a stonewaller earlier. Craig Gordon was probably the main difference the day ...that and a shocking penalty from Nisbet.

I know its harsh to criticise JR with the form we've had this season but too often in the big games we haven't looked totally 'on it', haven't made the right changes. Hertz on the other hand made 2 good changes and we just didn't know how to deal with it.

They really are a bunch of dirty, anti-football cloggers but we knew that already. How I would love to snap that c*nt Halliday. Collum let them away with absolute murder the day.

Im consoling myself that at least I didnt have to get back home from Hampden after that.
