I know that Port Vale are something of a bogey team especially if Tom Pope is playing.
All over them first half and should have been at least two goals up by half time. In fact it could well have been 4-0 but instead the first half finished goalless
Within 5 minutes of the re-start we were at last ahead. A ball in from the left to Alfie May at the near post was deftly flicked on to Andy Williams at the far post who turned it in from all of a yard out.
That should have been a sign that we were going to 'crack on' and secure the game. Instead within a few minutes Vale were level when an unmarked player headed in at the far post. Unbelievable.
But worse was to follow as Vale were now in the ascendancy and another poor defence mistake led to a winner for Vale.
Just to add insult to injury Pope came off the bench for the last few minutes but to no avail.
Now bring on FGR!! Oooops
