Looks like Direby will be losing their unwanted record points score this season. Oh and asking for a friend.... Whats the biggest number of goals conceded for the season. ??

Could be worse, we could have lost 8-0 like Schalke did last night.

I didn't watch the match but as soon as I saw the team I knew we wouldn't get any points. We went through all of last season with a 4 man defence and spent pre-season with a 4 man defence so why is Slaven using a formation that we have now only used twice during his tenure and doesn't suit our personnel?

It is giving me Hodgson 442 flashbacks.

I agree, and I really don't think it's time to be TOO (emphasis!) critical yet..... nor after next week's game.
Unlike a few, apparently, I DO (emphasis again) have faith in SB. I think he will turn this round, although I do (sort of) understand why some are critical of his selections and tactics.
Maybe this start will actually work in our favour - maybe the purse strings will loosen a little with 0 points out of 9 and a glaringly obvious need to recruit in a couple of positions (holding midfielder, strikers).
Cheer up, chaps and chapesses! Thumb up Big Grin Big Grin

I spent the time writing the daily Bible reflection I do for our parishes. Found a prayer to finish with which describes God as our defender and keeper. Now, THAT would improve the team.

Phillippians 3:13; "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal." Seriously, the tactical advice in there puts Dave Bassett's Big Book of Soccer Techniques to shame.

Ah, Paul had learned a lot by the time he wrote to the Philippians. Tragically in Acts 13:3 we hear that both Paul and Barnabas were sent off. The Kieran and Slaven of their day.

Can we swap Kerian Gibbs for Jethro Gibbs. Dingles 197, 34 DD

On a serious note, Dean has now set a preferance..... Any manager speaking to a referee to get a red card. Suggest Gouchan employ the services of one J Peace asap.

I know I'm in the minority, but the three at the back formation doesn't bother me... Just the personal playing it.

Lets face it, we weren't getting thrashed until Gibbs f****d it up for everyone.

Thought we were playing well before that... Huh

Just hope these first few results don't have negative impact on us being able to sign players.
