Bilic can’t be blamed for Gibbs being an idiot. We were playing well and have shown glimpses with 10 men but Everton are quality.
I’d swap Sawyers for Gallagher, Bartley for Hegazi or Ivanović and Johnstone for Button.

We still need a striker desperately. Surely we can try and make Austin part of any deal for Deeney our Grant.

Chelsea up next. A very difficult start to a season but they always do that to us.

A few observations, Bartley is an average championship player at best and is completely out of his depth at this level.
Same goes for Sawyers.
Team selection today was more than disappointing and Bilic has to man up and tell his obvious favourites their time is up.
Huge problems at the end of last season have not been addressed, no striker and a defence with more holes than a swiss cheese.
Gibbs, what a f$#king knob, time to move on.
Finally, what did everyone expect from that joke referee Mike Dean. It's a televised game so obviously he has to be the centre of attention, don't you know it's all about him!!
Finally finally, Bilic needs to take the bull by the horns and make wholesale changes next week, out goes Bartley, Sawyers, (Gibbs obviously) along with this stupid formation. Dowling needs to work his bollox off to get a striker in, and start next week with Kipre, Gallagher, and the new striker, and even a half fit Ivanovic.

Can't read much into the final result because of the red card.

On a rare positive note, we looked brighter going forward. And that makes me feel better today than after Leciester.

The shortcomings were the same though...

We really need a defender who can head the ball. Every ball into the box looked like it was going to be a goal. 3 centre defenders playing but none asserted themselves.

Really hope Ivanovic still has it because these lot are so namby-pamby at the back.

I'd cut my losses with Bartley. O'Shea isn't strong enough in the air to be a centre half in this division unfortunately. I'd play him full back with the personnel that we have.

We really need to acquire 3 or 4 players with fight, heart and spirit.

I maintain we need a proper sitting midfielder who just sits and protects, senses danger and marshals the opposition players in the 'hole'. I'd sooner have this extra man in midfield rather than an extra defender. Play him behind Livermore and Gallagher and let them both go box to box. Also a proper full back, ideally who can cover both sides. On that evidence, maybe another centre half as well because none of them looked up to par. Not sure why we signed Kipre if he's not good enough to oust those lot...

And then there's the striker situation where we need at least one. But credit to Robinson today, he played well again.

Just worrying because the squad seems really unbalanced with a heavy weighting on wingers / creative midfielders. I'm not sure if the lack of steel is being identified internally as Krov remains the top target when he should probably be 4th or 5th on the list. It's all looking at bit ominous, but at least we showed a bit more than the opening day.

Gallagher can’t play next Sat against parent club. But by God a few players will have a chance to show what there worth on Tuesday against Brentford.

I think its worth remembering that Leicester and Everton will likely be in or about the top 6 this season. So I wouldn't panic just yet.

Didn't dare look at what was happening until I knew it would be over. A good call, I think.
I spent the time writing the daily Bible reflection I do for our parishes. Found a prayer to finish with which describes God as our defender and keeper. Now, THAT would improve the team.

welcome back to the premier league albion. This already resembles the sort of scores we endured when we first came back early 2000s with megson outclassed out of our depth and woefully naive.
chelsea next and another cricket score methinks already rooted to the bottom with a big negative goal difference. I'm looking forward to getting back to the championship personally

I'm already tired of being told how good the opposition are! We simply are not good enough ATM. Gallagher and Ivanovic will help. We shouldn't be surprised that we are struggling IMO. I'm a little disappointed with Bilic ATM we may not be able to win, but his priority must be to make us hard to beat. The biggest positive is we are in the PL and not in administration. We have a couple of players who could be worth big money. So financially we are doing well. Chelsea next. I can only see another loss. I'm looking at Dowling to bring in a couple of bast'ds to install some discipline and dump some of the dross. Can Bilic make the tough decisions to drop his favourites is an important question. I don't expect much to change soon. It matters not I'm still a baggies fan come what may.
