He's due in court on the 19th. Decent fine and some points and a slap on the wrist?

Let's hope it's not a ban - depends how far over the limit he was, and at least he didn't crash his car or injure anyone, thankfully.

Why not? He should be treated like anyone else in the same situation

It does seem his mind is not on his job.....

'Despite his goalscoring form, Berahino has occurred problems off-the-pitch at West Brom with Sportsmail revealing that the Burundi-born star has been fined by the club for reporting late on match days three times this campaign.'

Tom, I wasn't inferring he shouldn't be treated like anyone else, I am simply hoping that he wasn't that far over the limit. If he was, then obviously he deserves what's coming to him.

Ban him, pure and simple, local rag here names and shames the drink drivers and publshes a photo and most receive a minimum of 18 months. No excuse, it's not as if he couldn't afford a bloody taxi from Lands End to John O Groats if he needed to. Sorry Aries but on this one very isolated occasion I can't agree, just over or way over the limit, there's no excuse. It's not like we don't always have other opportunities to have a drink when we're not driving Angry

Berahino either has one of the arses that TP needs to kick or shoulders that TP needs to put his arm around and give a good talking to. You wonder just what Irvine was saying to the player for this to happen three times already this season.

“he should be treated like anyone else in the same situation”. Absolutely.
But how many are in the SAME situation? You may take a viewpoint that
he should be judged in exactly the same manner as anybody else and I would
support this attitude but at the same time I hope that the staff at the club, his
friends and fellow players can honestly say that they have done everything
possible to nuture his development as a vulnerable young man subject to
endless media pressure and speculation. He should be punished but at the
same time he should be supported and educated.

Ban him and fine him a decent fine e.g. relative to earnings, so at least £200k - that will put him back in his box.

It's a long time ago but when I was nicked for speeding (just over 100mph) they asked me for evidence of income and expenditure then fined me a chunk of cash that was equal to a couple of weeks wages - stung big time. That's what this foolish boy needs - a reality check.

Imprisonment is pointless. Just lack of car and a hefty fine.
