For all our hard work and excellent play over the last couple of weeks - and at times it has been exemplary - it seems that fate has caught up with us as we come to the grand finale. With three matches left, working on the presumption that Brentford will continue their winning streak, we can't afford to lose a single game now; at the absolute worst, we can get away with one draw as long as we win our two other fixtures. But this week we face two tough battles against teams with nothing to lose, which will require the best from us to bag the points.

Fulham visit the Hawthorns on Tuesday evening sitting in 4th place on 76 points, and knowing that their own fading hopes of gaining automatic promotion are dependent on beating us. We're getting on for a decade without a win against the Cottagers in any competition, and currently on a four-game winning streak, a smash-and-grab would suit them nicely, so we'll have to dig deep both to break them down and to avoid the sucker punches when they come. No less testing is the trip to Huddersfield that follows on Friday. Unless the Terriers can pick up much-needed points against Sheffield Wednesday in the week, they'll be in the same precarious position above the drop zone and needing a result against Albion to push for survival.

Frankly, it all feels a bit like destiny turning against us in a big way right now, but at the very least, I hope we can give our all and fight for every minute of the season that remains. And, as the song says, whatever will be will be.

Update 15 draws, whereas Leeds and Brenford have 9, and more wins, so as I've been saying for months now "I wonder if having so many draws will eventually bite our bum" - lets hope not, but our being Champs it certainly not on unless Leeds fold like a deck of cards like last year. Whistle

So come on lads 3 wins and at least get us promoted. Thumb up

funnily enough I looked at this fixture before lockdown and thought to myself I bet this turns out to be the decider as to wether we go automatic or fulham do
At that time I didn't see brentford in the equation so its a decider alright but more for brentford than fulham now. So I believe this will be 1-1 fulham scoring first
leaving the door open for brentford and were going to have wait 24 hrs to see if preston can make a push for those play off places and somehow with a rare glass half full
moment i think brentford are due a draw whilst leeds will sail through against barnsley so I believe it will be 1st leeds 87 2nd WBA 82 3rd Brentford 79 4th Fulham 77 2 games to go
all set up for the most exciting end of season since the great escape possibly coming down to the last day Big Grin Theres a reason I'm not a betting man however lol!

I agree Valpayne, our record against Fulham ain't great, our home form has been patchy, we seem better on the road when we have to counter attack. Score draw seems right and Brentford can't win forever, it will go down to the last game with Leeds champions and a n other, hopefully us!

Not sure I enjoyed that but think I’m happy with a point.

We've now weathered what was the hardest of the three games on paper, but unless Brentford oblige us with a slip-up, only wins will do from here.
