We need to hold fire on transfers, when a few clubs fold and the Sky / BT / BBC substantially reduce funding. I see a glut of players
who will be available on free transfers.

OK - I have finally gotten over the depression of a broken season and the lack of sponsorship for sportsbabble and have started to maintain this thread.
I am super busy with C19 at the moment and so have not tracked rumours very well - this is my starter for 10 but I will start to back fill and update as I find content or you guys point out missing material
I can't wait for football to start again and if the 2020/21 season is to be the last sportsbabble covers then lets make sure West Brom are in the Premier League.

Only light gossip atm, according to the Media we have £250 million to spend and we are close to buying everyone who is available.
Where the truth is we don't buy anyone who is linked and have only 2 shillings and sixpence in the kitty.

After splashing the cash on Pereira and now playing BCD we will be losing money every week until the season is complete. With refunds AOTS I don't see us spending any money on transfers. Frees or loans will be what's needed. If any possible incoming players command a fee, I see it as a nonstarter in the current climate.
A fair point was all over the media today 1,400 players are either out of contract on the 1st of July or will be released.
Dowling and his team need to be monitoring, monitoring and monitoring some more.
Eeny meeny miny moe system is as good as any place to start. IMO Footballers silly wages are now finished - it's the rules of supply and demand.

Thanks a quick to Stairs for keeping the forum ticking over.
A thankless task. But i'm sure we all appreciate his and the forum teams efforts.
Must be donation time reminders I think. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink ladies and gents.

LATEST: @TheAthleticUK understands #WBA are hopeful of completing paperwork on Matheus Pereira's £8m transfer from Sporting Lisbon before Friday's game at Brentford.
Here is a reminder of his story.

Always amazes me how long this paperwork stuff takes to finalise. Is it really that difficult to write "Matheus Pereira, consider yourself a Baggie; now score us some goals or we'll pack you off to Stoke" on a sheet of A4?
