Really chuffed about Brunty.

Ferguson a different matter though. What are we going to get for the rest of the season from him? He'll be gone in the summer on a free and he certainly doesn't want to be at the Albion. With Peltier joining, and hopefully Gibbs coming back from injury Fergusons game time might be limited. Oh what a silly little boy!

Nathan Ferguson is apparently waiting to see if West Brom get promoted to the Premier League before he commits his future to the club.

Albion have offered him £20,000-per-week, which would rise to £30,000-per-week upon promotion.

Loyalty be damned, there is not one of us who would turn down a extra 10k per week, he could be crocked for life and say i was loyal to the club - not likely.

Reports coming out of Palace that the reason he failed the medical was due to a knee injury (which we already knew) and he needs an operation, which will rule him out for the rest of the season.

Silly boy is losing some serious money here, Joe Massi reported on Saturday that the new deal on the table (£20,000 a week, which has been there for most of the season) would see his income rise by 15 fold, so at present that must mean he is currently earning between £1200 and £1300 per week. Over a 40 week period that means he will have lost out on £750,000.

Maybe it is time to wave a stick at some of these youngsters, unless he signs, don't release him to go for the operation, he can still play 90 minutes, he demonstrated that recently. So keep him at the club for the rest of the season, he can go for the operation in his own time and at 'his own expense'. Needless to say he will be recovering during the preseason with no guarantee the operation would be successful and see who wants to take a chance on him then.

A bit harsh Salopbaggie... but i hear where you are coming from. However every "Employer" has a duty of care towards his/their/it's " employee". IMHO if he needs an Op & if his employer knows about it & it gets worse ( by playing him), then the Club could be in for a claim.

Maybe I am becoming a little bitter and twisted in my old age, but I am getting fed up of these youngsters taking the 'Michael' and the grumpy old man in me says, why should we pay for his surgery when he could do a Louie Barry in the summer.  As for Ferguson, he wants and is entitled to leave, fair enough, but don't expect us to pay for his surgery to enable him to do so, let the club who wants him, pay for it.  I have no problem if he is not even named on the bench, so no duty of care concerns, let him carry on with his £1200 per week, I am sure most of us could make do with that.
