If it's only PishPosh on loan then we're likely still on the hook for some of his wages. I suppose if the alternative is a free transfer then I suppose
(transer fee + wages paid) - (portion of wage not having to be paid + loan fee if any) = (transfer fee (0)) + (portion of wage still having to be paid) more or less.

We've still got him on our books though so if he does his ACL in his first day on the job we're still on the hook for it all.

DC says he's technically gifted, however he has previous for being a prat once he thinks he's out of sight of the club he's playing for and DC obviously doesn't rate his work rate highly enough or he'd have been in a DC match squad at some point by now. I can't blame Posh for not wanting to take on the rest of his current contract tbh.
