We play somebody Sheridan has told he can look for another club and one of our own youngsters who hasn't even featured so far in midfield and by all accounts looked more solid than we have all season.
Our manager leaves me speechless at times.
"Hi wedgie mate, er you know I told you I thought you were crap and could go? Well how do you fancy a pay rise?"

Surprised we hadn't used Wedgebury or Wakefield until the other night. Get Levi in the squad as well, he should be given a chance.

Didn't understand how Wedgbury could be behind all our midfielders unless his injury had had long-term consequences. He wouldn't class himself as an exciting midfielder, but I do think he's capable of making life difficult for opponents who think they might be the new Zidane.
I applaud Charlie Wakefield for seizing his chance. He now has to make himself impossible to drop.
Like Matt I'd like to see Levi back in the squad. Like Matt I'd also like to see us develop scouting at a non-league level, but I'm convinced it is fairly easy to find potential prospects. Almost every day we find other clubs signing players. Chorley just got Nortei Nortey, season before last he couldn't stop scoring from midfield for Dover. He had trials at Bradford earlier this year. He wasn't a secret. When I used to share names of potential signings on Bob's they always said players like that wouldn't move north ……. but plenty seem to welcome the opportunity and leads are easy to find. You only need to read reports …. if both home and away a player is receiving attention in reports that's a sign, if a local paper mentions him a lot, or fans' forums, or websites you know he's worth taking a look. If you travel and watch him and he disappoints so be it, but if you never get off your bum you'll never see the guy who is turning it on every week ……. who you can get for NOTHING! There's no big secret here, put in the work and then go and watch a football match. How hard can that be when it is your actual paid job?

Wakefield plays well on Tuesday and is dropped Sat ? FFS Sheridan stop pissing about. By all accounts we were lucky today.
Just something that struck me like a mallet the other day. Bobs have done the Gerrard twitter thing to death and I was aware the UK National press had run the story. Imagine my surprise one day last week when I saw a discarded Dutch newspaper with a picture of Gerrard and a headline I couldn't translate but contained the words "Social Media". It was a lengthy article and Chesterfield appeared in it.
Like the thread title when we are at home we just dont realise how our club is being ridiculed worldwide not just in the UK. I'm glad i'm not one for walking around sporting my clubs colours. The pointing fingers and laughs would make supporting Chesterfield even worse than just the teams performances.

We play 2 recognised CM's Smith and Wedgbury in their own positions in the middle of the park and hey presto our first away win. Not sure about our 2 top scorers starting on the bench but Fondop managed to rub Shez's nose in his starting line up.
Talks of a local consortium possibly taking over the club. As long as it means we see the back of all the current shareholders, directors and management team I cant wait. I would accept dropping down 2 divisions if its true.
Please please please let it be true, I would even start going to church and might even join the holy order of devout silenced cynics. Even Dev would start posting again and rejoin the prediction league (probably win it as well).

Also looks like 4-4-2 is the way forward instead of 3-5-2.

Apparently Gerard Pique was close to putting together an offer to buy Notts County in the summer, perhaps Dancing, with your Spanish connections you could show him pictures of our nice stadium and relay the story of our desperate need for someone like him ……….. and maybe he'd even turn out for us, now let's see who do we want Pique or Gerrard A.?
Bob's Board are already calculating the prospects of reaching the play-offs on the basis of one win against a side we somehow always beat. I fear the result may have nothing to say about 4-4-2 and everything to say about our opponents who have recently been more than keen to lose. I don't get this league - Matt Kosylo was good enough at Halifax to get Championship clubs watching and thinking over a bid. Fylde get him for virtually nowt. I thought the idea was to provide chances for Danny Rowe, grab double figures himself ……… Instead he barely gets on the field. Danny Rowe goes into his biggest drought for several seasons and Fylde end up signing several goalies in an attempt to stem the defensive crisis they caused by letting players go ……. I know their aim is EFL in 2022, but so far this this season has been a bit drastic as a stalling mechanism.
Meanwhile Halifax without their most coveted player from the last two seasons are romping away under an inexperienced manager in charge of a small squad assembled cheaply, little finance and a ground that has seen better days. Perhaps Kosylo is simply the bad penny, but I'd offer to take him off Fylde's hands if they don't want to put him on the pitch.
