WBA vs Blackburn - Match Thread

Saturday at three o'clock brings us the last game before the season's first international break, and a chance to assess where we really stand. Thanks to another Zohore penalty last weekend we remain one of the four unbeaten teams in the league, but we're lagging well behind the other three (who are, unsurprisingly, the top three). We also have yet to record our first home win under Slaven Bilic, so the visit of Blackburn on Saturday will be a good opportunity to get that particular ball rolling.

Not that Mowbray's men will make it easy, having taken four points off us last year and made a decent enough start to this campaign. Intriguingly for a Mowbray side, they've kept three clean sheets on the trot in the league, but seem to be struggling for goals at the other end, so would probably welcome another 1-0 win in this one. But for Albion, it's just a case of finding a bit of fluency and momentum - ideally turning draws into wins - as we head into autumn and look to start moving gradually upward.

My first game of the season so I can't wait for this one, hopefully we can get our first home win too. Blackburn seem decent enough so I'm expecting another draw unfortunately, 2-2 I reckon.

Me too BTB, going with the old man and having painted all evening for 3 nights after work until late, looking forward to a couple of pints, a balti pie and the usual pre match banter, 2-1 to the Baggies, I've got a feeling.

Mattwilson@expressandstar...

Extra special game for me today, because it’s my final one for @ExpressandStar. So after 4 years, 4 managers, a takeover, a relegation, and a stolen taxi, I will no longer be covering #wba. It’s been an absolute blast, and I’m just hoping I can sign off with a win https://t.co/KNu8AxECsr

Another good journo gone !!!

Filip and HRK on the bench - No Harper.
Looks to be a more adventurous line up - perhaps Phillips will play through the middle ?

Another sloppy goal conceded according to Sky with Johnstone dropping the free kick enabling his near namesake, Bradley Johnson an easy goal.
