31 Aug, 2021 Transfer Window: Championship Rebuild

They have no respect for us the fans, they are just looking after themselves. They should be sacked, fined and banned from holding such positions.
Mark my words, when we have NO players left to sell, NO parachute payments to siphon off - they will be off, pockets bulging laughing at us.
With an owner who is not interested the only chance we have is if he sells up. Even then it will take 2 or 3 years to rebuild the club at best.
Trying to get a dozen players to join and bond as a team in 3 weeks is never going to work. Forget it unless we want to kid ourselves.
Dowling and Jenkins have had weeks to bring players in and they have done nothing, why is that ? Simple, they are not bothered they just want to
rake as much money in as possible. It's all out of our control, we're not out! but we're going down IMO!
The plan to turn us into a Championship team is exactly that, sell off all the PL players and reduce the wage bill to suit the championship finances.
Problem is we haven't purchased anyone so we now cannot even compete in the championship, we're on the way down guys.
Reminds me of the saying F**K the icebergs full steam ahead theory.
Apart from that the Academy has produced 2 potential superstars that we should be proud of.
Moore, Shan , Harrison, Cutler, Scott and Hopcroft to name but a few of the 44 members who made up the Academy team can take a bow.

We have this panic every summer!  Dowling said some of the players who stayed last summer would go and that Slav would get the the baseline budget plus whatever is raised through transfers.  That currently stands at 15m plus whatever we get for Rondon and Rogers, so around 30-35m.  We are very early in the window, let's see where we are on 8th August.  What we need is quality not quantity.  Another 4/5 on top of Krovinovic will make a massive difference.  I suspect it'll be quite a few more than that.

I have to disagree with your numbers Extra Money coming into the club is as follows
Parachute payments £35 million
Rondon fee £16.5 million
JRod fee £10 million
Rogers fee £8 million
Dawson fee £5.5 million
That's £75 million - and before you say don't include parachute payments? - we wont when we don't have any.
If Gibbs / Hegazi / Nyom leave as expected that will put another £15 million into the kitty.

The "competitive budget" Jenkins quoted was nothing - not one penny and people wonder! why I don't trust anything
that comes out of his mouth. I would guess Bilic will get £25 million to spend and £50+ million will be off to China.
We can just but wait and see.

We're in the same ball-park c 70m, which includes wages (existing contractual commitments/budget).

So basically you're calling Dowling a liar?

The whole affair is very disheartening when the likes of Watford, Bournemouth, Leicester, Brighton and even the Dasterdly Dingles plus others are now well ahead of us.

Under Uncle Roy we were a force to be reckoned with but when he left to manage England, we then employed two clowns in Pulis and Pardew who strangled the life out of our beloved club leaving us in the doldrums we now find ourselves.

I fear that it will be many seasons before we once again become a Premiership force, if ever we do and we will see the Dingles and Vile competing to be The Pride of the Midlands.

Makes you feel nauseous doesn’t it.

One of  the original founder member football teams was recently relegated to non league football i.e. Notts County.

So it could happen to anybody; we are not exempt!

I love your optimistic outlook, I do post what I think (and it gives me no pleasure) - it's not directed at anyone but the people running our club.
Your faith is unshakable fair play to you  Thumb up  I wish I had something to be positive about tbh.
What do you see that makes you have faith we end up one of the top clubs in the EFL ?

One thing is becoming more obvious and that's why it took us 3 months to find a new manager. I'm assuming several didn't quite fancy it or the thought of working for D & J  wasn't an attractive option.
The readout took 3 months to find a manager,is I believe 1, the ex Fulham boss Jan whatever his name changed the goal posts he was lined up to take over from Moore but upped his wages  2 Neil was talked about but we had reservations so decided to stick with Shan to save any more disruption. Then at the end of the season  we did the right thing took our time and got in the one they believe will take us forward looked at others including giving wilder,Who said he was interested a few days but in the end we went for me with the outstanding candidate out there for a club in the championship and in Belic we trust . Why some fans love to have a downer on our club I will never know in my 60 years of supporting them only ever been down about our club twice Buckley and Saunders. Hated a few things Nicholson the drugs , Analka and Berahino.  But all in all this is my club and I will follow them no matter what.

With tenacity please. Field Harper & Edwards to become regular 1st team players. Something we have all wanted. We all want success and we have a chance to create a new young vibrant team COYB

First match
Johnstone
Bilic Bilic Bartley Townsend
Harper Livermore Field
Filip Edwards
Bilic

Bond - Phillips - Leko - O'Shea - HRK - Burke - Brunt
( Tulloch - Fitzwater - Wilson -  5 loans )
Hegazi, Nyom & Gibbs N/A
That’s a positive team. I like it. Stay positive and I think the team will end up better than this by the glorious 8th.

I agree that I think Nyom and Gibbs may go and even Phillips if he does not sign a new deal. But I hope Hegazi will stay and that the whole defence is built round our man mountain.  Smile

I think your exactly right with your spot on summary, Bilic was available from day one though.
I don't have a downer on the club I actually care far to much i'm afraid.
You make me feel young I've only been a supporter for 55 years. Apart from the FAC and I was young then Coming up from the old 3rd division with Super Bob scoring for fun was more enjoyable then any promotion to the PL but that's just me.
Actually had a chat with Bob at a charity game at Stourbridge FC in April - he was presenting awards to youngsters. great to see him still getting enjoyment out of putting a little time back into the grass roots.
