Phil, your not on your own, a lot of us Baggies know the score, we wanted to be in a more competitive league, a more even playing field, and for that you have to be competitive. To get out of this division at the right end costs money, we have to invest, that's a given, where your on your own is your pessimism, your very quick to predict our relegation and downfall. We are not yet in a 1991 type scenario where we were poor and drew our last five games 1-1, we won 2-1 twice, drew 1-1 six times and drew 2-2 once in our last nine games, unbeaten but still resulting in a short two year stay in the third tier ...... have a little faith, a little hope, say a little prayer, sorry song lyrics creeping in there ....... believe.

4Eva your exactly right, I do talk us down, but I do hold my hand up if I'm wrong. My biggest issue is our owner could have invested. Purchased Dack and Gayle for £25 million and we would be getting a cheque for £100 million next year from the PL - that's the time to do your rebuild.. not a year after you've gone down.

Phil, I understand your point, but there is a fine balance to be struck, in order to receive loyalty you have to show loyalty, big Dave nearly kept us up, a lot of our squad stayed when they could have gone, they were good enough to take us back up but tactics and formations were wrong. If things were different we would now be looking at rebuilding for return to the greed league. The oldies would have retired and the kids would be fitting in with new signings ....
Instead we went for more oldies on loan and the season fell apart.

Loyalty works both ways, DM loyalty to GJ cost him his job and our promotion IMO. Players loyalty is to money now and for our youngsters seeing their teacher mentor and friend dumped, has given them a lesson they will never forget. I have lost count of people saying Harper should be loyal, we killed the loyalty not him.
Darren should have been made General of the academy or chief of PR but never just dumped when he was sacked. The clowns in charge have no people skills and Jenkins may know how a balance sheet works, but running a club you have to know how to look after your assets (People) and he hasn't got a clue.
I'm sure I think differently to a lot of posters on here, but its not to wind people up - it's just look at things from the bigger picture. Others tend to look at the
here and now. Which is fine we are all different.

Phil, I have not disagreed with you, my point about loyalty was in relation to the summer transfer window, we could have dumped BD and a number of older players, we showed loyalty and it failed, once it was clear BD was not working out our loyalty went out the window, players have not shown loyalty for years, how many Morrison's and Brunt's have there been in the last thirty years. play offs against Derby we had too many players playing for themselves, then buggering off when we failed to go up, odem, saido, academy players galore in recent years. Difficult balance, loyalty, finance, investment etc etc.

4eva I never criticise posters, managers, players, owners at times, poor tactics - the money they get I consider them fair game.
All I was trying to put over is my thinking is different and at times hasty - but always with the best intentions.

Phil, I am fair minded and I don't take offence, the players have given their year to the cause ... that's a little loyalty and all we could ask. A year on now we can rebuild, spend, New manager, New team and hopefully a better result, a reminisce of 2008. Never worry about upsetting me ..... I worked with high ranking politicians for fourteen years ...... If you can manage that without getting sacked you can cope with different views on here.
Onwards and upwards ..... COME ON YOU BAGGIES.

It’s like Brexit. I am so worn down by it all I just want a decision and do t really care anymore which way it goes.
Cowley has done a good job. Unproven at our level but could be a master stroke.
Others seem to have distanced themselves from the job and so I guess that someone no one is mentioning at the moment will suddenly be announced.
I’d like to say I don’t give a f*** but despite everything, I do

(sorry, gotta cut & paste, still can't use most of the buttons on here)
Phil, you make some great points there, I'd totally missed that. BD had many great qualities and should definitely have been kept on in some capacity.
Our loss, for sure.
