Prediction League Results/Tables Week 34
#1

In the last couple of weeks most of us have taken delight in seeing L**ds throw away their automatic promotion place, losing to the likes of Wigan, who had 10 men for 75 mins, and Brentford over Easter!! Well our PL seems to have the same situation possibly brewing!!

This weeks winner was Beefy with 13 points, courtesy of a spot on Gamball and not much else!!!! But as the only one in double figures it puts him right in the mix for the title!! In 2nd place on 8 points is BBB, who would have scored more than Beefy had he not got his Gamball and Bonus but that 2 of the top 3 with the top scores of the week, and still no sign of our leader!!!

Joint 3rd is Matt, Worldclass and Snooty, all on 4 points. As you can see from the scores, nothing special to for any of these three but worth pointing out that Matt scored on a weeks high 4 games, Worldclass got the only other positive score on the Gamball and Snooty was one of only 4 players to actually get a correct score this week!! And still no sign of our leader!!

Finally our leader Zinman makes an appearance in joint 6th spot with Derby but neither of them have given the scorer any work this week with a big fat zero scored!! Derby actually got a correct score, Zinman didn’t!! In fact the only game Zinman scored on was the Gamball, but of course he didn’t play it again and this week it cost him a potentially precious 2 points, could he live to regret that decision this week?

The last three players all ended with negative scores, SCO on -1, Amelia on -3 and Sanjay on -4. SCO and Amelia failed to score anything from any of their balls and SCO stayed ahead by getting an extra correct result. Sanjay almost turned in the lowest score possible had it not been for both Man Utd and Chelsea scoring today!!!!

So we now wait with baited breath for Bomber to get the tables up but a second shocking week for Zinman has really closed it up at the top, question is will he do a L**ds or not???? Either way the finish in our PL looks like it might be as close as the real one, we are in for a cracking finish!!!

Cheers
SCO

Well, well, well in a weekend that saw the leadership change no less than 3 times, we emerged from Sunday’s games with a new leader.

Thanks to the shenanigans at Elland Rd, Beefy would have been willing Leeds to do the decent thing and let the vile walk one in – probably the only fan of any West Midland club, while the rest of us just sat back highly amused. As it was his prayers were answered and he scooped the 8 point bonanza from the Gamball to sit top of the pile by a fairly healthy 7 points going into next weeks finale. Zinman led the way going into the penultimate week but came out of it just about hanging onto 2nd, will he take the gamble and be a pusi next week hoping others around him suffer the -3 or will he go gung-ho and hope he can claw back the deficit.

At the end of Saturdays games BBB led the table by a point, with another point back to 3rd, but an awful Sunday saw him drop back the bronze medal position again where he sits 4 points off 2nd and 11 off the top, all to play for but it will take some big swings to get his name on the trophy. SCO in 4th is too far back to have a say in the title race but is probably far enough ahead of his pursuers to hold on to his top 4 spot.

Derby leads the way in the little 3-way mini battle to finish in the top half of the table and leads Matt who climbs a spot by 5 points then it’s only a further 4 back to Sanjay in 7th so still plenty to turn up for next week for these 3 to claim the highest position they can.

Worldclass will have to predict an extra week to try and maintain his Premiership place for next season when he takes on 3rd in the Championship over 10 matches to decide where he’ll be predicting from next season.

Amelia and Snooty have matched their beloved Terriers and succumbed to relegation from the top tier down to the Championship and will become the big fish in the little pond next season.

Bomber

Into the exciting final weeks of the Championship......except it seems that nobody sent out the "exciting" script to the players. One stand-out performance, a familiar name at the bottom and a logjam of mediocrity in the middle - somehow I don't think we'll see much change in Bomber's table.

Sitting out on his own at the top is Stairs, only 3 correct predictions but it helps when 2 of them are correct scores and one of those 2 is the gamball. Stairs was the only player to score on the gamball (though not the only player to get that score right) and the extra 8 points sees him comfortably ahead of the pack.

Second place goes to Mr Consistent, Themaclad. More correct predictions than Stairs but a bad weekend with his balls, losing out on the gamball and bonus but clawing back a point with the scoreball. Close behind is Twerton thanks to a rare correct bonus result one of a week's high of 4 correct predictions though he failed to get any scores right.

Locked together in a passionate embrace on 6 points are 4eva and Bomber - Bomber could have made his play-off place certain if he'd only been brave enough to play the gamball, though he should probably be penalised for playing his scoreball on a nil nil draw. BaggieOne was another player with 4 correct predictions but again failed miserably with his balls.

Quantum...sorry AAA (I can't be bothered to change the headings in my scoring spreadsheet) - had something of a disaster week with just 1 correct prediction - fortunately this happened to be his bonus so the damage was limited and won't have done much harm to his promotion challenge.

And finally, just for a change, we have Joker, relaxed with the thought of certain promotion next year - from the newly formed league 1.

With promotion all but wrapped up weeks ago, the last few weeks have been all about who will emerge as champions and going into the last set of games next week themaclad holds a useful 9 point cushion in his quest to lead from week 1 all the way through the season. AAA will need a decent week to overhaul him and may feel that a stab at the Gamball has everything to gain this week and absolutely nothing to lose if he wants to win the Championship title.

Bomber maintains his grip on the promotion play off spot in 3rd, 16 points ahead of 4eva sitting in 4th who will be looking to finish of his season with a stonking week to gate-crash into that last chance saloon with a final chance of promotion.

Or could Stairs, only a further 4 points back in 5th have one last crack and go all out in a blaze of glory, the chances may be slim, but the chance is there all the same, while Twerton will be playing for pride after threatening that 3rd spot for most of the season up until the last 2 or 3 weeks.

BaggieOne remains one off the bottom in 7th but safe that he’ll not receive ownership of the wooden spoon for this season as Joker has the firmest of grips on that and after relegation last year can consider himself lucky that there’s nowhere lower to go after the Chapionship.

Lord Snooty ..... welcome back
Amelia ..... I just called to say hello

Another great write up ...... level pegging with bomber again this week ...... 16 point gap to big to bridge next week ..... should have played more pusi balls, would have been closer and would have been in with a shout.

Can I be first to say congratulations to bomber on his play off spot, good luck in the battle with worldclass.

You should just be like Bielsa and do the sporting thing and say nowt!!!!!!

As and when there is anything concrete to say , then we should be given the opportunity to say it first before you humbly reply!!

Or you could just be like Mourinho and give yourself a special name, but if you take that route we may find our own special names for you!!!

Congratulations, Beefy. Now you're leading I assume you'll do the decent thing and post your predictions early rather than waiting to see what BBB and myself are doing?
