A VAR official should have the power to intervene much like an observing AR or 4th official!!! VAR should be refined to suit the full requirements of ref officialdom in the 21st century. You've not watched the three incidents??? Listening to an ex English FA ref on BT Sport today, his view was that two of them could've merited two separate red cards!!! This ref somehow saw but missed everything and therefore his interpretation of the FIFA rules of the game are "open to question" and possibly the subject of a proper ref monitoring system that has the power to demote or suspend such a ref!! Lets not "beat the bush" re this ref performance covering these separate incidents - IT WAS HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS!!!

I watched the game with a friend who was up from down south and he literally could not believe some of the decisions Beaton made at that game. At any level of football those 3 incidents with Morelos are yellow cards.
That he saw them and didn't act tells you everything. He's a cheat pure and simple, no doubt in my mind that Suttons right in that the SFA are doing their best to help sevco.
VAR sounds like the right idea but the same gaggle of idiots and huns the SFA employ would likely xxxx it up. Hopefully they go on strike again and we get some decent referees in.

Yep! Lets "cut to the chase" re this issue! It appears that Beaton is either a "closet hun" or he is corrupt and involved in some form of match-fixing. His performance surrounding these incidents is nothing short of astounding and I think Celtic officials are correct in asking for an explanation in this kinda scenario rather than just being told that he observed these "assaults" by Morelos!!! WHY NO ACTION MR BEATON??? EXPLAIN!!!!
Also we are moving towards another "old chestnut" re the way refereeing is run by the SFA. I'll repeat a previous pre-requisite that I would insist upon if Iwas in charge of the refereeing op in Scotland and that is that every ref should declare in a formal affidavit if they have any association or leanings towards any Scottish footie club. This kinda document would be signed and held confidentially but certainly used in choosing who officiates certain matches. This practise has been operated by the English FA for years and IMO it is a great idea!! It is discreet and makes use of the wide choice of refs who can be deemed impartial in their assigned matches. In Scotland IMO there are not enough referees operating at the top level and I think that is part of the problem. Couple that prob to one where competence and a high ability to officiate are in short supply when the choice of ref from a small pool is evident. The general standard of refereeing will naturally be low and Scottish footie fans are observing this. IMO some ref officials don't even know what offside is and that's a fact when sitting behind some of the worst ones and observing their mistakes!! Calum McGregor's disallowed goal v Rangers at Ibronx was a matter of millimetres in disallowing a well-taken goal by him whereas weeks before at Tynecastle Morelos scored a goal v Hearts and he was at least a foot and a half offside in a game that Rangers won and gained 3 pts!!! Again no VAR to disallow the goal and overrule another crap assistant referee!!

Yeah, forgot about the offside call, that was 'marginal' too and the linesman couldn't have had a great view of it.
Beaton's a rangers fan from Lanarkshire, like bobby madden he shouldn't be anywhere near games involving that 'club'

Yep! I've read the same insinuation on social media but was never sure how true it is. A formal ref affidavit , as described in my previous thread, would go a long way in tackling this kinda prob and it works in English footie with no contention from ref officials. They take their assigned "filtered" matches and "get on with it"! IMO we are still backward up here in Scotland when it comes to this stuff!

For years now we have known that certain referees supported certain clubs when they were younger and judging by many events over past seasons it seems they cannot be impartial when a major decision should go against that club. Supporters of every club in Scotland could single out times when this has happened.
VAR might improve things but it is open to different interpretations. Bringing in officials from abroad would prove too expensive but something needs to be done to restore our faith in these officials.

The stamp on Ralston is so blatant that no one even with half a brain could see it other than a red card, Beaton is a cheat like stated earlier there is no hiding from that based on what has gone on here, I hope Celtic leave the SFA and Beaton and the joke of a compliance officer without names after they have there meeting.
