If its Sheridan then that's me done. I can still remember "they are not listening " reverberating out of the radio every time we lost. Even if he's given up the booze he's still not the one to get us out of the mess we are in.
Poisoned Challis doesn't even come into it. Mourinho's out of work, maybe he could buy the club as well.

John Still has retired from football, aged 68, I don't think he planned that at the season's start so I hope he isn't ill ......
Harry Wheeler has been sacked at Maidstone .......... he's young but he isn't successful.
Frankie Bunn was sacked at Oldham despite getting a hat trick out of Chris O'Grady the other week. Our butcher down here is an Oldham fan and he was quite upset for Frankie, he didn't think things were that bad apart from Carlisle away.
John Sheridan's greatest moment at Carlisle was sending Jamie Devitt out on loan to Gateshead. He couldn't keep a place in their team, was returned to Carlisle, but he's been scoring most weeks since and playing well. Sheridan at Chesterfield again? He was once a very nice player to watch, but as a manager, to me, he seems an ugly wasp-faced man with a chip on both shoulders (and replacements available). But can we afford nice? I wouldn't have minded a drink or two and a chat with Martin Allen, but Sheri .............. a night out with Robert Mugabe is more attractive.
I think the right answer to Boxing Day may have been to pretend it hadn't happened, but that doesn't seem to be one of the responses available within the football world. Unfortunately if MA had survived it would have been taken as a sign that no-one at the top of the club cared about results ......... Bob's Board often characterises Ashley Carson as a man who gets every decision wrong and is often conveniently asleep at the wheel, but I do think he and DA had spotted the possibility of a disastrous Christmas and had got at least the start of a plan in place. First Mr Bean's surprise introduction, second the ambush and despatch of MA and friends by Bean's hand, third? Let's hope there is a third and that for the first time in a long-time they've got a plan that works.

Well I hope MA goes to Barnet and settles down there and doesn't leave for ........ would it be the sixth time?
I hope we have planned a replacement, though I'm now praying it isn't The Carlisle Wasp.
I can't imagine the John Still who left Dagenham because their disappearing financial resources had made his job impossible, would leave Barnet and retire from the game just make way for Martin Allen, but there must be dots to join - just as there are dots to join at Chesterfield over the sudden appointment of a Chief Executive whose first major task is to cull the manager and his cohort.
But a 3-0 win over Solihull Moors would have left MA smiling over the prospect of a home game with Hartlepool. And if Barnet had won well on Boxing Day would John Still have been considering retirement, whether or not Martin Allen had been sacked. We'll only ever know that football's a dirty business and however much you tell them to take care, the fans are only bums to place on seats.

Look's like the fans in Wigan have had enough. If Cook leaves Wigan would you have him back?

Losing him was where it went wrong, wasn't it?

That and selling a lot of the squad off after Cook had left for Portsmouth. Deciding to hire Saunders after having a 10 minute conversation when he brought his Crawley side to the Proact which they lost. Giving Saunders a good budget and him wasting it on players who weren't good enough and giving players high wages when they didn't deserve them. Sacking him and blaming it on the fans when we lost 4-0 at home to Swindon.
I think a lot of the problems weren't addressed in 2010-11 when we got promoted to L1 under Sheridan. We lost Craig Davies to Barnsley on a free and he wasn't replaced, a lot of that team which got us promoted were loanees who didn't stay and new players we signed in L1 struggled, we also lost Jack Lester for a lot of that season when he broke his arm against Leyton Orient and also when Tommy Lee got injured and we had about 3 different keepers, Soderberg, Smith and Greg Fleming who was the No 2. We won the JPT that season but came straight back down to L2.

Would the turkeys vote to abolish Christmas? Like a shot, I would say.
Why would he want to come back, though? Everybody would expect him to work miracles from day 1 on a budget nothing like the one he had to work with before (which was why he left in the first place, as I recall). He`d have everything to lose and nothing to gain as far as I can see.

There's no way Cook would be daft enough to come back unless he's had a lobotomy since he left us and there's no way Sheridan should be allowed to come back.
As it stands Pemberton is doing well enough for us to take our time selecting a new manager. The big problem is the idiots doing the selecting. When it comes to commonsense, they collectively have 1 brain cell and have to pass it around in order to have an idea.
There is a bit of undercurrent building up around a local consortium who are involved in negotiations with DA to take over the running of the club. I just hope that the current incumbents don't tie a noose around their necks by selecting somebody of the calibre of their past appointments.
