Sometimes you run the story, but stories can find a way to ruin you.

Couldn't edit your post Dev so had to cut and paste.

They can do both Dancing ........ they lead you off whatever you were dealing to new ground that yes, might even turn out to be quicksand that finishes you, or simply into a maze of inexplicable forms of plant life that seems to have no exit.

Have I got this right? If the protest goes ahead on Saturday then DA will walk and not put anymore money in the club therefore staff won't be paid before Xmas?

As I understand it, Matt, AC has said that DA 'could' walk away if there`s 'any trouble' on Saturday - whatever that means.

Good `ere, innit!

Radio Sheff do a nightly football phone in, just finished at 7. The guy from the Bridge Inn who was threatened was on. Nearly every call was from non CFC fans saying how they were gob smacked at the pure arrogance of Ash and Cash. I think AC has really done himself no favours with his loose mouth this time.
It also would seem ha could have broken the data protection act by suggesting the protest was started in spite because the landlord of the Bridge applied for one of the non exec directors roles and wasn't selected.
These 2 really haven't got a bloody clue, moronic imbeciles.

They certainly are showing themselves in their true colours, which clearly aren't blue!

The casino and leisure industry in general, together with football and boxing, are notorious highways for dirty money and thus attract criminals and criminal behaviour. The trouble for them is that in the digital age sending the lads round whenever they are challenged isn't always a feasible, or an effective response. AND at a time when police don't even investigate minor crime they ARE more than willing to act on evidence of high-profile criminality, because it is good publicity to counteract all the bad press they receive. Deep down I'm sure neither Mr Allen, nor Mr Carson want either the police, or the taxation authorities paying them too much interest ....... so I'm hoping that raising the stakes as Mr Carson has done will not be indicative of their next move, should their bluff be called.

In the end, like most wars, this is only likely to end if and when the fans and Mr Allen communicate with each other. If Mr Allen wants to kill Chesterfield FC he doesn't have to walk away, that's nonsense, he just has to call in his debt. Physically he's already walked away, and if he's letting Carson loose off his gob I fear he's also departed the club mentally.

Should the demonstration / protest go ahead? If the police allow it, then YES. But I would say that wouldn't I?

Mr Carson really has blown it this time. He doesnt do things by half does he?
The club are still today advertising tickets and availability for various functions and parties over Christmas / New Year.
No staff pay = no staff.
Now if DA does withhold wages on the basis that the club is insolvent (he cant possibly do it otherwise) I can see some pretty hefty court claims heading his and AC's way for knowingly continuing trading whilst insolvent and taking money for something he had no intention of supplying.
So either our Ash is talking through his arse - again, or Ash and Cash think they are performing a re-write of "The Sting"

Now if you were looking to book a last minute function or Christmas Party anyway, would you book it somewhere that the owner and major shareholder had publicly stated they would withhold staff wages for the month of December meaning you were wasting your money?
Talk about screwing yourself big style!!!

I agree, Dev; at the end of the day anything remotely approaching a positive outcome can only be achieved if all sides sit down and not only talk but talk with a bit of commonsense and at least a vestige of civility.

Throwing insults and accusations around like confetti will achieve absolutely nothing; well, nothing positive anyway.

The trouble is I fear that sufficient bad things may need to happen to drive both sides to the table. And we don't seem to have reached that point yet, even just above the relegation zone in the National League. I get the impression maybe only a near-death experience will be enough

Someone of integrity would have to act as honest broker to mediate between the two sides. Suggestions?
Well I'd suggest asking Geoff Miller and Bob Wilson because of their age and sporting connections ...... and because both sides might actually like them enough to be honest with them and might be ashamed to be seen acting like fools in front of them.

Daft idea?
