If we did get rid

So Swindon ditched Phil Brown after they beat York in the cup, Shrewsbury sacked Askey, and Wimbledon very unwisely got shut of Neal Ardley, is a draw against Billericay enough to keep Martin Allen in post?

Neal Ardley seems a good manager to me and I'd be happy to give him the job, and Askey won this league last season with no money, but even with our inability to win, surely we can't join the sack race again can we?

We have to go with Mr Allen the younger don't we?

Whilst ever there are signs of improvement we should stick with him.
The last 2 home games we were unlucky not to win both.

It takes a man or a lunatic to admit he was wrong. MA did just that last week. The jury is still out as to which side of the fence Martin Allen falls but when we don't play hoofball we look quite a good team. We just need somebody to put the ball in the back of the net.
That's easier said than done but am sure we could get somebody better than Denton to play it on the ground.
On Sat we had 2 long distance shots. Both hit the North Stand roof but at least we tried.

Christmas is make or break for me. If we win Sat that should give us some momentum. I hope we do and I hope MA turns the corner and stays. A draw or worse and the Grim Reaper takes a step forward.

I still think we should stick with MA, personally. Like you, Dancing, I think we`re looking a far better team now than a few weeks ago and actually playing some decent football now. Plus, if we`re going to have a fit Charlie Carter back before Xmas, that will be like signing a new player.

Again it`s a personal point a view - I`m sure others will differ - but to MA is far more man than madman. I respect him for admitting his mistakes and not frightened of taking flak over it; that`s why I admire him for holding that Q&A session in our current situation. (Did you go, Dancing? You`re a season-ticket-holder aren`t you? If they hold another one for the general riff-raff, I might turn up myself.)

Yes, Dev, I think we do have to stick with him. All those managers you mention might do a better job, but there`s no guarantee other than the financial impact, which would be entirely negative as far as I can see.

Couldn't make it SGB was washing my hair (whats left of it).
If they do have another open to anybody I can see it being a bit of a blood bath so I honestly hope they don't.
Some of our so called supporters live in cloud cuckoo land and cant accept we are where we are and that there are some good teams and clubs in our league and the 2 below.
We don't have a god given right to be anywhere, we all have to fight for it and that includes our fair weather supporters who seem to be the most vocal about our plight.

If we hadn't changed managers quite so often in recent seasons I might feel differently about this whole thing. I think the recent sackings have given us the opportunity either to stick with Mr Allen, or come up with a very decent-looking replacement. So now is the time to ask ourselves the question.

At some point you have to do what's right. We certainly didn't do that with Danny Wilson, and then we gave another favourite in Jack Lester a pretty awful job with potentially disastrous consequences for him. And the less said about the Partick months between those two decisions the better.

The right thing to do by Mr Allen has to be to stick by him if he still wants to stick by us. Deep down I think it should only be possible to change manager mid-season on genuinely compassionate grounds or death.

I don't see how loyalty and commitment can ever exist within a club, if the club and its fans are prepared to shrug them off like a cheap Matalan top.

I don`t think there`s a lot of loyalty left in the game anywhere these days, personally. Maybe it would be a healthier game if there was, though.

I see a mix of youth and reserves came back from 2-0 down to win 2-3 at Sheffield last night.
Anyon in goal to start with ( 2 down after 10mins ) Jalal coming on at half time. Amanchi scored and 2 youngsters. Hope the first team were watching.

Loyalty and commitment are great qualities in very short supply. I'm sure football would be healthier if they came back in fashion.

Krystian Dennis must be a bad omen for managers. Caldwell and Lester at Chesterfield followed by Nolan and Kewell. Whose career will he kill next?
