Josh Matt at the express and star said it was a 4-3-3  Thumb up

The match report says 443 as well so I’ll go along with that.

I read from someone who was there that it was 442 but obviously not.

Josh, I hope it wasn't 443, as that's against the rules, twelve players no wonder we found a way to win ..... couldn't the ref count, was he from Wolverhampton.

And that ladies, gentleman and whale thing is why you always check your comment before posting. Sorry I meant 433 not 443. Doh

And now after a positive win against the top team you are all satisfied, whereas over the past few weeks some of you would have sacked the manager and nearly all the team had you your own way. Whistle

Its unfortunate that we now we have a 2 week break so cannot immediately determine whether the formation and result will continue on to the next match. I hope so.

We had a long-standing commitment last night, much to my annoyance and, despite it's being in a Stourbridge pub, I managed to avoid all reference to the match and watched it on Sunday.

Valpayne, if you don't mind a trip to Telford, you can watch it at my place.

Just watched the highlights on Quest and I was very impressed with the shape of the team. To me it looked very fluid and changed between 442 and 433 at will. It reminded me of the Hodgson shape in his final 3 months at the club. Robson-Kanu’s position seemed important because if he moved central from the right alongside Rodriguez then Phillips would pull out the right side and make it a 442. The goals were also very well worked as well with the play faster getting forward.

The only change I’d consider for Ipswich is Barry to shore up the midfield.

A lot of us were saying he had no plan B and 3 at the back wasn’t working. A few of us pointed out that when he took over at the end of last season and had success we were playing 4 at the back. If he had continued to do that against Dirty Leeds then who knows what the result would have been BUT at long last he puts 4 at the back and puts round pegs in round holes (apart from Tosin and Dawson) and surprise surprise we battered Leeds exactly the same way Derby battered us. It’s a lot of time, effort and money to keep going up so yes I for one am a lot happier he’s finally woken up.

This formation must now be his plan A. As fans we are fickle and want to win and when you can see obvious mistakes being made and a stubbornness or lack of tactical nouse not to change things we get fed up. Today i’m Happy

Exactly right world class
We all new two slow midfielders wasn't working, 3 at the back wasn't working, playing it out from the back wasn't working etc etc etc.....
This is why we questioned Dave, he was adamant he was going to stay with 3 at the back we all wondered why .........
Guess what he must have listend to us because out comes the back four a more mobile midfield that has 3 in the middle not two
Amazing...........
It's a pity some people don't read the comments fully, but just pick bones out of them to suit agendas Doh

It was a thrilling game!

I know that the ultimate goal is to get back in the greed league,
but how good was that to watch!?
Is it wrong to say that I dont relish the thought of going back up,
trying to scrape out goalless draws and 1-0's in half the games we play...?

Realistically I know if we dont gain promotion we will more than likely
lose our best players and could be struggling for seasons to come....

But personally, compared to last season, I would take this one every week! (if Darren desists with the 3 at the back that is)

COYB!!

I suppose 'some people' is referring to me?  However am I not entitled to my opinion or not? Over the past weeks I have heard zanny remarks from 'some' people looking for OUR managers head, and that is a fact. It's boring. More so from 'some' people who change their tune more times than our ruddy weather.  Big Grin
