Not saying that its time for him to go (yet) but if we did get rid of MA who would be a good appointment. Who do we think is crazy enough other than MA to polish the turd that is CFC and sit between owner and fans taking all the crap with limited funds available?
We were on a downward spiral and last season some of us thought we may even drop again. Currently we are 2 points clear of 4th from bottom. For all his faults MA had a good start but we seem to have lost our way a bit (to say the least). 3 draws in the last 3 games is a lot better than we have been doing and might just give us a bit of a platform to build on.
Having watched the game Sat our confidence looks shot to pieces. One win though could change all that, on the other hand one more defeat is just another nail in the coffin.
For what its worth I honestly cant think of anybody who could come here and do a job for us and I dread to think of who Carson or DA would come up with.
So my conclusion is stick with what we have, but if we slide into the bottom 4 and are still there come Christmas changes will be needed.
Can anybody honestly imagine Dave Allen saying " Sorry I got it wrong, Martin Allen was my appointment and I take full responsibility for the mess we are in"?

Personally, Dancing, I can`t think of anybody at all who I`d have confidence in to come in and turn us around at the drop of a hat. That being the case, I`m with you; I think we have to stick with who we have for the time being. If Xmas is the watershed for you, that`s fine - but bear in mind the financial implications of paying off MA with nearly 2 years left on his contract. We would then be even more strapped for cash than we are now and we`d have another set of players coming and going through the revolving door; basically, back to square 1 and start all over again. Myself, I reckon that would guarantee relegation - no matter what position we`re in at Xmas.
I still think MA will get things moving in the right direction. As you say, it will only take 1 good win the confidence starts to come back and they will look a different team. I actually think we`re starting to get there already away from home; it`s at the Proact that they seem still to be totally bereft of confidence. (Perhaps some of our `supporters` might like to think on that and ask themselves why that might be.) Apart from the fact that I`ve decided to go, I wouldn`t be surprised to see us get a draw on Saturday.
My answer to the question you ask at the end of your post? Err, nio.

Luke Garrard (Boreham Wood), Jamie Vermiglio (Chorley), Marcus Law (Kettering) ...... from non-league .................
and I'd add Ritchie Humphreys or Kevin Davies if it had to be someone with a name, because none of our fans had heard of the other three.
But we can't keep just changing managers can we? But we can't just keep not-winning either ..........
MA appears directionless. Two weeks ago Levi Amantchi is brought on as sub. The following week he is dropped from the bench - now what kind of message is that to a young player? But hey take a look at the website - teenager signs first contract gets a desultory four lines and no picture. What kind of idiot is running this show?

Of course there are people out there who can do a better job that Allen...its finding them thats the problem .Thats no excuse not to try and change a crap situation .Although things have improved slightly of late ,personally if we dont pull away from the relegation zone, ie we lose more games in the next few weeks ,he should go.
DA should sell up of course, but we have had good managers under him so why not again ?.We cant keep the status quo if it means another relegation with dire football .We need to go back to playing attractive attacking football and be entertained .Watford arent afraid to keep changing managers to get it right ,we should adopt that policy .

Dev, don't doubt the names you mention are good managers but that wasn't really the question. Would they take on the poisoned challis of working for Uncle Dave?

I would give it a go. I seem to do pretty well in the National League North and in the National League on Football Manager by building teams with no money and getting them into L2.

Well Dancing, Marcus Law would jump at it, Vermiglio would be more concerned with loyalty to Chorley as he played for them, Luke Garrard - well if he'd come north we have massively more potential than Boreham Wood. Would Kev still give us a go after being rejected ..... dunno ...... would DA be a step too far for him dunno? As for The Hump, well he'd ask his mate Chris Turner ....... but he did win a game for us as manager.
It seems the wrong reason to stick with a manager - that you think your club is so shit no-one decent would give you a go! I think the stadium, the potential crowd, fairly-recent success and the difficulty of getting that first foot on the managerial ladder would still get us plenty of applicants. England play internationals at our ground ...........
MA is doing a measurably crap job at the moment, but he has fairly recently proved he can win this league ......... and the main objection to him is dinosaur football which doesn't actually exist.
Kev at Southport got rid of ten of the eleven players who started in his first game ......... Only one of my choices, who might be gettable, has succeeded in management at our level.
I'm still a bit dubious about Spirematt's suitability for the position - the unreliability of the past few weeks must count against him!
