THE LAST MATCH

Two in a row Thumb up I think I deserve a great deal of credit for this after my predictions in the Xmas League and the fact I missed both games  Cool You'll also be glad to know that I will be missing this one n'all  Angry My bloody wallet can't take much more though Doh

In a repeat of last weeks thread  Whistle I can't really go into this one as I knew fluck all about it until about 3 hours after the finish  Angry And I still haven't had time to watch the FL show yet  Doh but I'll take 3pts any day of the week Thumb up even if the wife is bleeding me dry  Thumb down

I'll be looking forward to Charlie posting the highlights on here (because I haven't worked out where to find them yet  Doh ) so that I can catch up a bit  Cool

Here are the highlights of the Blackburn win.

THE MATCH - KO SAT 15:00 GMT

Wolves at home.

According to Imre we haven't beaten these lot at home for donkeys years  Huh I tend to agree but can't be arsed to look  Laugh I do remember us coming from behind, ooh er matron, with two Sheridan pens whilst down to 10 men yonks ago to snatch a 2-2 draw Undecided  but I can't remember the last time we actually beat them at S6  Doh

It does appear that they are in free fall though and are looking to turn the corner which we have, hopefully, just gone past so they should be there for the taking  Thumb up But we all know Wednesday don't we  Doh

When you've got no points,

To answer your question Maddix, its 9 league games since we beat this lot, a run stretching back to 2006.  On that day in March 2006, Tudgay (2) and Burton were our scorers in a 3-1 win at Molineux.  Prior to that you have to go back 14 more games and right back to 1968 for our previous league win!!!  So its 2 wins in 23 attempts over a span of 44 years!!!!

Our last home league win in any competition against them was 26th September 1964!!!!!  Only Pei among us will remember that one, I was only a few months old FFS!!!  So yes Imre is right when he says its "donkey's years" since we beat them - well at home anyway!!

Son, lets get the first shift out of the way and cash the first paycheck before you start thinking of emulating Pei!!!

Sorry my mistake, I said that game in 1964 was the last home league win, it wasn't, it was the last home win in any competition against them!!!! Duly corrected my post!!

That has to be one of the longest streaks we have going against a team we have played fairly regularly!!

Our Record with Stuart Atwell (recently re-appointed back to the PL):

Oct 14 - Wednesday 0-0 Norwich - 7Y

Jan 14 - Burnley 1-1 Wednesday - 5Y

Aug 13 - Wednesday 2-2 Millwall - 2Y Turned down clear penalty for foul by Bywater on Antonio

Feb 13 - Birmingham 0-0 Wednesday - 4Y

Dec 12 - Barnsley 0-1 Wednesday - 5Y Missed Red Card challenge on Madine but allowed Madine's foul on keeper that led to our winner

Dec 09 - Wednesday 2-2 Newcastle - 2Y Allowed Varney's challenge on keeper that led to one of our goals

So our record with Atwell is five draws & one win.

SG needs to tell our players that he allows challenges on the keeper.
