I'm going for a win on Saturday .I don't think we are as good as the 3 wins in a row suggests but I don't think we are as bad as the 4 losses in a row and I think we will redress the balance on Saturday.

You could well be right, Blue. Having played abysmally and dropped points we probably shouldn`t have, it would be so like us to pull off a win against one of the stronger teams - on paper, at least. I`ve seen us do it so many times over the years.

Mind you, my plans for the week-end have changed and I might be coming up myself - so that could well put the mokkers on things.

Team selection should be interesting. I presume that JBW will be available again now, so MA could re-shape the back line; JBW, Hollis, Maguire perhaps with another if MA decides to play a back 4?

Its getting a habit now SGB, just bite the bullet and get yourself a season ticket. Think of the hours of fun you could have.

I've put us down to score 4 on Saturday so watch it be a goalless draw.
I'm not bothered either way as long we put the effort in which has been what was missing last 3 seasons, but is there in abundance now.

Maybe we don't have the skill level to play attractive tippy tappy footy but if we stop the rot this season I will be more than happy.
Some of the crap I read on our other so called supporters board just makes me wonder what planet some folk are on. We are not world beaters, we are not somewhere we shouldn't be, we are where we are.
Everybody loved Dave Allen when we got our nice new stadium and were batting above our weight at the top of Lge1 but times change and so has our lord and masters ideas. He owns the club and until somebody comes in with a Wonga loan on the never never to buy him out we are stuck with him. He put money in and now wants it out. I hope he has left some reference to it in his will because the way things are going he wont be here when an offer comes in at his valuation.

We will have to fight and battle our way out of this league. we will win some and lose some. It will take whatever it takes and I am here for the long haul. I hope MA sticks around because he has been a breath of fresh air and just what the club needed to keep Carson off the reigns. Whilstever he is here he will have my full support.

I just wonder who we would get in as manager, how long it would take, and how much disruption we'd undergo if we sacked Martin Allen when the inevitable exodus of those he brought with him occurred. But nodding dogs on Bobs happily write, "it's a results-based business," to justify chewing off their own bollox.

Compared to Paul Cook's team, this side is very poor indeed ......... but all our rivals would also suffer in that comparison too. All we can expect is that these players work hard, support each other and do their absolute best to climb the league. If Mr Allen can make a couple of judicious additions and work the magic he has sometimes shown elsewhere of getting players to perform above themselves then ......... But some of our supporters do need reminding of:-

1. The reality of the club's position and the relative equality strength across our opposition.
2. The fact that most non-league clubs would welcome Martin Allen as manager with opens arms.
3. The difficulty of bringing success to an organisation which behind the scenes and and often in front of them is chaotic.
4. The fact that we have no natural right to win at this level, no one fears us and everyone wants to organise to beat us.
5. This is the last day of August, the season ends in May.

I can't promise Martin Allen my full support, 'cos I can't help pointing out when I think he has made mistakes (like ditching Ricky German and Marshall Willock on his first full day in charge and adopting such an ageing profile amongst his signings). But managers aren't perfect. Getting Macclesfield to win this league was a managerial near-miracle - but look at Shrewsbury now. Nearly promoting Shrewsbury last season to the Championship last season was excellent, but how about relegating Ipswich from it this time?

Define `fun`, please.

I told you before, Dancing, I don`t watch CFC for `fun`, or `pleasure` or`enjoyment`; never have. I do it to cleanse the soul and as a penance for sins committed in a previous life. I`ve no idea what they were, but they must have been humdingers. I just hope I enjoyed them at the time.

I don`t really look at Bob`s Board, which I assume is the one you`re both referring to. I did look at it a couple of times some while ago and have to say I didn`t know whether to laugh or cry at some of the things I read there. We all look at our team very simplistically at times - and by `we` I mean football followers generally - and I`m no different. A win is usually a `good game`, regardless of the quality of the football and, of course, the opposite applies equally. Although I might not particularly enjoy our current style of play under MA or DA`s responsibility for the maladministration that`s gone on at the club in recent years (and it`s happened on his watch, so he IS ultimately responsible) I believe in both of their abilities as a football manager and a businessman respectively.

MA has a proven track-record at this level and higher, so we have to go with him and trust his judgement even if we don`t like or understand some of his decisions. At least he takes the time and trouble to COMMUNICATE with the supporters, which is a vast improvement on some of his recent predecessors and he takes responsibility for those decisions publicly and openly. I respect that enormously. Anyway, who are we going to get who would a) be interested and b) do a better job given the financial constraints we have? My biggest fear is that, if he starts getting aggro from our resident loudmouths he may decide to walk away. We really are back in the doo-doo then.

DA is no idiot. A self-centred megalomaniac he may possibly be, but no idiot. He`s a fairly shrewd businessman who knows that if he is going to get any sort of return on the money he`s put into us, and is still putting in by all accounts, he has to see us back in the EFL. I don`t think he`s the anti-Christ that he`s been made out to be at times but he has made some horrendous errors of judgement. Unlike MA, however, he doesn`t seem willing to accept responsibility for them. I saw the interview he did a few weeks ago (or was it months? Time flies at my age.) and he seemed to want to take credit for anything good that`s happened under his ownership and to blame everybody else - the managers, the players, the directors - for everything that`s gone wrong. He really should go into politics.

He also told the supporters, within a few months of dropping out of the FL for the first time in nearly a century, that `we`ve never had it so good` because we`d had 2 trips to Wembley. You have to admire the brass neck, if nothing else. However, we have got a beautiful stadium ( and a colossal debt to go with it, admittedly) and we wouldn`t have but for him. I actually think that if we can accept that the next few years are going to be hard grind, then the long-term future for the club is reasonably positive. DA will sell out eventually and there will be new buyers who will see the club`s potential and inject capital. I hope so, anyway.

God, I have rambled on, haven`t I. Sorry about that.

SGB, who did you murder? You seem quite a nice chap to me. Just shows what I know.

IMO if we get rid of MA that's it, wave bye bye to CFC. He is our last chance at turning things around and if he manages to avoid the thoughts of some of the dick heads on Bobs Board then he might just stick it out and attract somebody who might take a chance on us and buy DA out.
If we lose Saturday the knife grinders will be rubbing their hands in glee and by 5-00pm there will be at least 3 or 4 posts calling for MA's head. Footballs a fickle business but people don't look at the bigger picture. Lose MA and we are done for.

MA has said he had to cut the wage bill by £1.2 million when he came in, god knows what we were paying who but that's some bloody wage bill for the crap we had on board. We were a basket case when he came in and there is now hope. Lets give him the support he deserves.

Martin has admitted he has made mistakes which ,although its admirable to admit it ,is disappointing that someone as experienced as him is making errors of judgement .It wouldn't have been so bad if he wasn't so convincing that you want to believe everything he says.
Anyway ,he has finally seen there is a decent player in Rowley ,also JBW will definitely play tomorrow.
If we have cut the wage bill by 1.2 million then its reasonable to assume that the team which finished tailed of at the bottom of the forth tier had a budget of over 2 million !.

Fair comment, Blue. Personally, though, I think MA made the comment about his own errors of judgement to to divert criticism (and therefore pressure) off the players and onto himself. That`s good man-management and shows his years of experience.

SGB, you are allowed to ramble on, it's an age-thing. I'm just naturally concise and if you believe that ........ well take care!

DA as the anti-Christ? I think we should let St Charles Owl judge that one. You'd never find a more reasonable Owl than him. Most of their fans can't complete a sentence beginning, "My opinion of Dave Allen is ......" without lapsing into expletives and frothing at the mouth.

I'll be interested to read your opinions on yesterday. It seems noticeable to me that Nelson would be in MA's team even if he'd a broken leg and two ACLs. If that is the case I can't understand why he isn't captain. The other noticeable feature is we have a team full of players who don't score many goals. At this long range, it doesn't seem surprising we keep coming up with 0.

I do think MA is making plenty of mistakes, but managers who don't make mistakes rarely do anything excellent either. The real problem has to be that it is difficult to build a winning team when behind the scenes the club has a regime of chaos imposed upon it by DA's influence. MA may bravely say that he is receiving the support he needs, but how else can he protect and enthuse his players? He can't look and sound like a wimp, and to be fair he doesn't, but he can't be happy with the position he's inherited.

Lots of business men succeed simply because they are the nastiest piece of work on the block. Psychopaths and sociopaths rise to the top, just because they will trample on their friends and punch anyone who stands in their way straight in the face. They never accept blame. Remind you of anyone? DA will act in what he perceives to be his own selfish interest - if that happens to coincide with CFC's interest then fine, but any other agenda which favours him can never be off the cards.

Dave Allen is a shrewd businessman in everything he has done except for his involvement in football!!!! He is a mini Donald Trump, its not about the club or the players or the fans, its all about him, and while that may work when you are the head of a regular company where your ownership is not disputed or challenged, it doesn’t work in football because ultimately its the fans that “own” clubs!! DA cannot accept that the fan adulation is always towards the players/manager in good times but generally against him in bad times, that is the life of a football club owner and if your ego cannot take that then football ownership is not for you!!!

He left us in a terrible state, that to be fair he didn’t create, but he did make worse and he clung on until 15 minutes before we were due to be wound up before he relented and struck a deal with Mandaric, and even then he extracted his piece of flesh that he felt he was owed. His attitude towards the fans is something that will never be forgiven, to sue fans for their criticism on social media and other media fits his persona perfectly, the fans are not employees and they don’t have to say or do what you want them to say or do, and he could never live with that. Thankfully our current owner finally paid him off after Mandaric sold us and we no longer owe anything to him. He will be remembered at S6 as someone who came in when we were down on our knees, and he preceeded to chop off our lower legs so that we didn’t sink any lower but couldn’t stand up either!!! The quicker you can get rid of him the better, but he will want a price that sees him benefit, he will not sell you in a way that is good for the club, he will sell you when its the right deal for Dave Allen and him alone!!
