Careful now.
In my experience Mansfield are a VERY physical side.

Fortunately their former pr**t of a Manager (Steve Evans) is now managing Posh otherwise Big Dave would have needed earplugs to keep out all the screaming of the little Scottish g*t.

Play the youngsters by all means but, have some tough big guys on the bench; just in case!
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

Any positive result is wonderful after our last 18 months, but lets not get to carried away just yet and see this game for what it was, a team just relegated from the Premiership, scrapping a 1-0 win, at home, against a team just promoted from League 2.  This is not meant as anything negative just saying there is still a lot of work to do, I doubt we even have the squad yet that we will play the rest of the season with.  The uncertainty over Dawson and Chadli and possibly Rod, though I really hope not, is hindering our progress, as we can not plan anything.  As for Dawson and Chadli, stop paying these guys unless they stump up and start playing, if I don't (actually didn't) turn up for work, I did not get paid, what makes these players think they are exempt from the rules that govern us mere mortals?

All clubs moan about this 'player power', but no club seems to take a stand on it, maybe the answer is to bring in 'piecework'  Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin  for those to young to have come across piecework, it was an old system where you worked for nothing and got paid on the amount of product (the number of pieces) you made. You don't play you don't get paid (obviously some arrangement for a player 'genuinely injured in the course of a game). £1 a yard run with the ball, £5 a cross, £10 for a good cross etc.

OK the last bit was just in jest but you get where on am coming from, there needs to be a coordinated effort between clubs to pull the reins in on this player power.  I can't believe I am arguing for employers rights, over the rights of the workers.

I absolutely agree with you SB and I've said it before but I'l say it again speedway riders get paid only when they ride and each race point is worth more money. They also risk far more serious life threatening injuries and even instant death if they crash and the wage difference between them and footballers is sickening and insulting in the extreme. they rely on sponsorship to get by and if injured they don't ride they don't get paid So yes piecework would be a fitting scenario for these over paid extremely fortunate individuals who start throwing their diamond crusted teddies out their solid gold prams

Val, supply and demand, supply and demand ........ very few people are good enough to play professional football, professional rugby, speedway, F1 ..... I could list more so supply is short in top sports, therefore it comes down to demand, football is the most watched sport, therefore more demand, more spondolies. Love it or hate it, market forces dictate prices ......

We definitely played them home and away in the Ardiles promotion year (and won both, I think), but this is the first time in the cup.

Saido Berahino has scored! His first goal since February 27 2016, ending a drought of 913 days. The End.

Who are the poor buggers he is playing against.?
