Saint Johnstone v Hibs, Sun 12 August, KO 3.00pm

Thought we made more than enough good chances to win the game if i was honest, but SJ probably finished the stronger side. They are definitely more than a bit of a bogey side for us just now.

Shaw continues to impress, the boy can hold it up and finish. Horgan looked good when he came on, and played in a no 10 type role.

It won't matter too much if we get through midweek though. But we all know how hard its going to be.

I must say I'm in a dual dilemma re Thursday's Euro quali "decider" v Molde - I wanna see a historical Euro victory for Hibs that propels them into a 4th round EL quali play off tie. These games are higher profile "interesting matches" and far more interesting than any Betfred Cup match could ever offer! Yet the possibility of a tie v Dinamo Minsk looks like a "step too far" v formidable top quality opponents and also the "distraction" of this EL tourney could damage our domestic season. Also note the injuries that are being incurred. Yet there is a decent amount of money "up for grabs" if we do progress further.

I know what you are saying but these games could be worth a lot of money to the club, and I think a club of hibs standing and history should be playing in Europe.

The chances are we wont make the group stages, but I'd like to absolutely give it everything we have got to try. If we have to play the bairns in the betfred game so be it.
