I wouldn’t go that far drewks.

I do hope Big Dave was watching the match and taking notes on how to play pure counter-attacking football. He has the defensive organisation perfect and just needs to add a more attractive style to our attack.

I said to my Dad that he looks a bit overweight but if you look at him closely he has a unique body shape with a short torso so his muscled abs looks like excess baggage.

Beefy on the other hand is pure blubber. Whistle

well this weekend has put all the hype surrounding
Brazil
Germany
France and Argentina to bed

they are not as good as they think they are
The French were absolutely dire
Argentina were...shall we say......pathetic
was watching that game with my dad and told him once the penalty was awarded....left hand corner and he would miss it
Germany this afternoon were not as good as they think they are
and as for Brazil(or should that be Neymar and friends) favourites to win it?
after that performance i doubt it
but well done the Swiss

i know it`s early days

All the fuss over VAR and penalties........ All FIFA need to say to referee`s is....
1, Holding in the box. Penalty or free kick.
2, Pushing in the box. Penalty/hree kick.
3. Shirt pulling in the box. Penalty/free kick.

VAR is watching and will be used.

Can't believe the penalty and non penalty decisions. Absolute joke!
Don't agree with DD (above) .... thought we were good - shoulda won by 3 or 4.
Tunisia IMO were snidy, cheating and deserved nothing, referee diabolical

Thoroughly deserved win against twelve men on the pitch and a bunch of blind muppets in a VAR booth. Performance-wise, first half was the best stuff I've seen from England at a major tournament in twenty years, and we were just guilty of being profligate in front of goal. Second half we faded, and it started to look more like the standard England fare of playing at pedestrian pace and having no cutting edge, but with a poacher like Kane you're always in with a chance, and crucially he took it when it came.

No point getting carried away, because we'll doubtless have more of the same frustration against Panama, and Belgium will be a challenge on another level, but a good start is a good start however it comes.

We should have won by 3 or 4 and that is why we were poor and lucky to get through. We were better once Stirling was taken off (why play him, there has to be better.

You can only lose it at this stage and so ugly as that win was, it almost, Panama willing, gets us into the knock out stage and a team can gather pace in a competition and so it gives us some hope.

Hope for the first time in an age. But let’s hope Stirling warms the bench from now on
