I know I keep referring back, to what we were warned about by the Wednesday fans, but I see another warning has come to pass, that "he will start blaming the players" .
Here he goes, it is not his tactics, it is the players fault.

That will go down well in the dressing room.
On a different note just went to 606 to try and find the post that mentioned this and the site has gone?

Haven't checked it myself, but it wouldn't surprise me; the site's completely and totally broken, and the owner has no interest in fixing it (hence us jumping ship).

“When we have Dorrans, Gardner, Brunt and Mulumbu with Sessegnon and Berahino, there isn’t a defender in that group so its not as if it’s a team that’s set up not to attack.
“It’s a team set up to try and play through midfield and get forward."
Christ he has really lost the plot if he thinks that the midfield 4 of Dorrans, Mulumbu, Gardner and Brunt is set up to attack and get forward. None of them get anywhere near the opposition penalty area.

All just a bunch of bullies, the lot of ya What a load of old twaddle from AI
I’m not a negative coach, I’m a purist, I want us to attack, but I have to be realistic.
So you are not going to attack
“It hurts. I’d be telling lies if I said it didn’t sting. I made a decision that I thought might get us back into the game and it nearly worked.
Yes it nearly worked and I nearly got laid last night as well, but I didn’t
“I know that it works both ways and we’ve got to give the fans things to cheer about.
Just some decent entertaining football would do me
“In the difficult times we probably could do with our fans being exactly that – our supporters.
You cheeky **** when you have stood (sat) on these terraces for 40 plus years like many of us, maybe I will listen to your opinion as much as you listen to mine on your management of the team
“We have a better chance of winning games if we’re all together, the fans, the players, the whole club.”
Oh and if you knew something about management as well would help
“We don’t have lots of individuals who can do something on their own.
But we do have some and they don’t even get on the bench
“Our work has been about going forward, the majority of our sessions about going forward.
Then from there how to go backwards and sideways
“We go into every game with a plan of how we’re going to attack as well as how we need to defend.”
So all the players fault not mine

That comment is astonishing. The bloke does himself no favours at all. Just some slight acknowledgement of the fact that lack of pace and ability to beat a man is costing us would go a long, long way.
Really not looking forward to the coming weeks at all. This all has the potential to go the way of Blackburn with Steve Kean a few years ago.

Bill Howell has tweeted a few opinions on the situation:
"On one hand I'm a lot clearer as to where WBA are after listening to Alan Irvine. And on the other, I'm not."
"Can't see any of the fringe players starting tomorrow. Maybe a change or two, but most likely to be Morrison, Anichebe or Gamboa."
"Won't be a January clear-out. One or two may leave."
"Irvine's not a bullshitter like many I've met. Says he feels sympathy for fringe players who were signed late and missed pre-season."
"I think he's defending these guys rather well. They clearly can't be good enough day to day. They should be ready, for sure. But if they are hopeless day to day then only Harry Redknapp would slaughter them as a last resort."
