Hibs v Aberdeen:, Sat 17 Feb, KO 3.00pm

This upcoming league fixture is one of high interest from Hibs fans and it already looks like it could be a sell-out with few South Stand tickets remaining after the club decided to open it up to Hibs fans seeking match tickets. I'd luv to see Hibs winning this match, a league fixture which appears to be beyond Hibs capacity to win it - bordering on a 'bogey team' arriving at ER again! However, Lenny has changed the dynamic of the team with a lotta pace and 'hi press' tactics employed in the process. IMO if we can beat Rangers, we can beat the Dons as well and I think Lenny must try to impose that psychology of 'belief' that we can do it at home and we can see that lotsa Hibs fans perceive the importance of this fixture as well. Lets hope they are not disappointed again as has happened so often in the past! Hopefully that huge home support will 'lift the players to greater heights'! C'mon Hibs!

Aberdeen have been soundly beaten by both Rangers and Celtic home and away this season and we have beaten Rangers-twice- and were very unlucky not to have beaten Celtic. Going by that yardstick we must be in with a great shout of taking them at Easter Road and I`m sure Lenny will have the team thinking likewise.
A victory means we get closer to third spot and European football which we are far better prepared for than our last two adventures.
First thing is to take care of Aberdeen and the rest might fall into place.

The aberdeen games have been the only real disappointment so far, we got kicked off the park by them at easter road and at pittodrie we just didn't turn up, the team was in the midst of a pretty heavy schedule though.

I'm hoping this time we get it right in front of whats going to be a big crowd.

What a second half performance hibs where by far the most superior side and thoroughly deserved the 3 points.
Hibs bossed the whole game with our 3 midfield players outstanding I don't think any team have played the dons off the park like we did. The 2-0 score flattered aberdeen it could have been 4 or 5 their keeper having made some good saves.

Leanne Dempster please please please gt Dylan McGeouch signed up he was magnificent today

Just back from ER and what a terrific match that ended up with a deserved 2-0 win for Hibs with Scotty Alan 'unplayable', the same as at Ibronx previously and sublime - deserved the standing ovation at the end! That's another bogey 'dead n buried' and witnessed by a terrific Hibs crowd in an almost 'full house' stadium on a great 'blue sky' afternoon.A tactical triumph for Lenny by opting for a classy attacking mid formation of Allan, McGeouch and McGinn that pounded the Dons' defence in the 2nd half. It should've been 4-0 or 5-0 if Maclaren had been that class striker that would make this Hibs side a fabulous one and would be capable of thrashing any team on a good day! Well done!

Great win the day. Perfect conditions for the game, and a good crowd to boot.

First half hour was fairly equal, then we just blew them away i think. mcgeough and allan were both absolutely outstanding and it has to be said as well that efe had one of his best games for the club. 2nd half was probably the best we have played all season, credit to derek mcinnes for being so honest afterwards and so wholesome in his praise of this hibs team.

We could easily have hit 4 or 5 the day, mclaren isnae quite there yet but it was his first 90 mins. He certainly worked hard pulling the dons defence out of position but he timed a lot of his runs wrong and his finishing wasn't great. Maybe he just needs time but on today i'm not sure if he is an upgrade on murray (who scored twice the day), on the other hand florian looks the bizzo, he's very strong but he's mobile and a good finisher.

The sheep were also lucky to finish that game with 11 men,at one stage in the 2nd half when we were steamrolling them they were in danger of losing the place completely.

Great day out, started off badly by watching a turgid hertz performance in dingwall that would have got fitba banned. But finished off toasting our win with a nice pint of stout in robbies before the bus home.

Cheers!

Didn't make the game but watched it on Alba tonight. Have to say I thought we were sensational especially in the second half and a 4 or 5 win would not have flattered us. If we keep up this level of performance we can catch both Rangers and Aberdeen, stretching it a bit much to catch Celtic but you never can tell. GGTTH.

I'll be watching Alba later instead of the late night movie. There's nothing that can beat a happy ending! GGTTH

Thankfully the refereeing performance today had no detrimental effect on Hibs eventual victory but I must say I was flabbergasted by ref Dallas' misinterpretation of McLean's second bookable offence almost on the hour mark! Rolleyes

Aye - ref totally bottled it, seen it again there and the players reaction tells it all. He thought he was for the off.

Note a change in our style a wee bit since the end of january. We press from the front more effectively and create the space for the midfielders to come through. Scott allan could well be a masterstroke, we look a bit more dangerous going forward now.
