RIP Cyrille Regis

Not a WBA fan but genuinely respectful of a WBA and Footballing legend, gutted to read about Cyrille this morning

Should have attained far more England caps (frequently spoke at work about `What if` Cyrille, Laurie and Jimmy Case were in the WC82 squad)

Definitely old enough to remember Atkinson`s Albion team which had names like Robson, Wile, Batson, Barnes, Brown, Statham, Moses, Cunningham, Owen and Regis, one exciting and incomparable team worth paying to watch, some lovely memories and tributes on here

Has to share part of a article by BBC Sport's chief football writer, Phil McNulty in tribute to Cyrille

"Regis was a gentle man away from football but such was his threat on the field, particularly when subjected to heavy physical attentions from opponents, that opposing managers used to specifically instruct their players not to upset him or annoy him in any way as the results could be devastating. In full flight, Regis was a magnificent sight."

For some reason the tweet from Shelia Ferguson brought a smile to my face, so thought I would share that as well.

Heartbreaking news #cyrilleregis was one of the nicest guys I have ever know. My sincerest condolences to all his family and friends RIP.(broken heart emoji)............ then continued:

When we (The Three Degrees) met West Brom Albion's 3Degrees. Cyril and I took the PR stunt rather seriously. Sx (emoji: heart - Rose - kiss lips)

Words almost fail me.

Can't believe it's true. So just like Jeff, another Baggies legend, Cyrille has been taken from us all too soon.

There really isn't any justice in this world.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. R.I.P Big Man it was an honour to have watched you play.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

Just think how much those players would be worth in today's market
I would put Cyrille up with Lukaku at least
What did he go for £80 Million ??

The warmth, decency and genuine love shown for Cyrille Regis on this thread would have made him very proud of West Bromwich Albion and all that he achieved.

When times are crap, you're 3-0 down, that expensive new signing has been hiding on the wing again, and you all feel like snapping at each other on here out of sheer frustration, remember Cyrille, how close you felt at this moment and what good people you actually are. Your memories of him genuinely moved me.

He was The Electric Electrician.

The club have posted this, I defy any supporter who remembers the days when Cyrille was playing and the s**t, he and some of our other players took to watch this without a touch of a lump in the throat.

Yup, some great words on here.
I love that quote of Cyrille on the wall (presume)  of the player's pitch entrance on Beefy's post  - great to know that he loved the Albion ALMOST as much as all of us loved him.
Fantastic memories rekindled, seeing him in action - all on vegetable - garden pitches with the heavier ball. What power and strength he had, what an athlete......and he certainly knew where the goal was!
And that smile. Wow.
He had absolute charisma......Laurie will always rate as the best player I've ever seen but Cyrille is the best person, the best character ......just the best.
His passing has evoked such feelings of sadness to so many .......I really hope that he knew how highly he was thought of by so many of us.
