RIP Cyrille Regis

I am truly stunned, he was a real hero of mine both on and off the pitch, heard Ron Atkinson on the radio this morning saying he was the best centre forward he'd ever managed.

When he was in his stride there was simply no stopping him strong, fast and skillful.

He will be so sadly missed for everything he did and for the lovely bloke he was - I am devastated

Devastated ...... was heartbroken by the passing of the king ......... although I'm at 51 and not from the Midlands I did not see much of Jeff. ...... but to hear the sad sad news about Cryille was worse for me .... I spent many hours watching that great team of the 70's and now we lose another legend, a true sporting icon, it feels like losing a close family member ....

A great striker, gone to be reunited with Laurie, a huge hole in the west Brom family, like most of that Albion squad , to often overlooked for international recognition by their country, a great talent that deserved to be honoured with more silverware.

Rest in peace, great man, great servant of the club, great sportsman ......... a legend

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and people who knew him in his journey thorough football.

Gone but never forgotten ..........

Shed a tear this morning, probably for the first time since my own dad died. RIP Cyrille, my childhood hero and much of why I follow the Albion.

Devastated to hear this, one of the biggest legends at the club, and probably my favourite ever player bar Laurie. He was such an inspiration as well.

RIP to a real great

I hope the club plan a tribute of some sort. Nothing on the official website yet. Very disappointing WBA FC!
And what on earth has happened to the statue of the "Three Degrees"? I thought that was close to completion? Anyone know anything about this?

I only met Cyrille at Hednesford Town FC last Christmas and he was the nicest bloke you could ever meet
He had loads of time to chat with me and my daughter
At least I managed to get a picture of him with me my daughter and santa
Will treasure that for the rest of my life

What more can anyone say, never saw him play, but his reputation precedes him, I'm not an emotional guy but I feel like crying, in this era of self flagulation and ego's, the words hero resonate for our Cyrille. Truly sorry at his passing, we have lost one of our sons today and the Albion is slightly lesser for it, my thoughts and feelings are with his family and closest friends, I'm sure they'll be a good turnout for him, he thoroughly deserves it.

God I feel sad just writing this, rest in peace Cyrille, thank you for being the great man you were and are in our hearts and memories.
