Worried about what might have been said and what the FA has to say about JR’s actions at end of the match.

He looked stunned that what he might have said had been over reacted and so hopefully a storm in a tea cup.

We can’t afford to have players sidelined.

Yeah, I (unfairly) gave him stick after Swansea when we were at our lowest ebb, but apart from one or two errors and misunderstandings he's been solid for us, a great find.

Bit perplexed by the J-Rod thing. From his gestures it just looks like he was saying "you smell", or something of that nature. Not the nicest thing to say, but hardly worthy of reporting to the FA either. Hope it's some heat of the moment misunderstanding.

Nice to have another cheerful Saturday night, but we can't lose sight of the fact that today's result was the bare minimum that was needed. Pardew's a peaks and troughs manager, and hopefully this will see us start on a bit of a run. Fingers crossed.

Well I hate those clapper things - made it sound like there was a hailstorm on a tin roof! But it certainly boosted the noise level and atmosphere. As for the game itself my Stand out players were Hegazi (what a bargain), Dawson (how we missed him when he was injured), Phillips and Rondon (if only he could hit a cow's a**e with a banjo!)
When the J Rod incident occurred I thought J Rod was complaining he had been elbowed. Didn't see much else as I sit in the East Stand towards the Smethwick end. We should also have had a penalty for a blatant hand ball! How Mr Atkinson missed it was unbelievable! (Should have gone to Specsavers!)
All in all an enjoyable afternoon. A thoroughly deserved three points, some superb attacking play at times, a clean sheet and two Pulis type goals!!!! Onwards and upwards Baggies. Boing Boing!

Not sure if it was a penalty. I reckon although it was handball, he knew less about it than the Arsenal lad last week. Probably wouldn’t say that if we’d got a draw.

The only thing I can think of with JR is that he was making a reference to the size of Bong's nose. This could conceivably be construed as racist due to preexisting stereotypes, although it would be difficult to prove that JR had racist intent.

Just watched the Albion segment of match of the day .... recorded it yesterday, run off everything else ...... first time for ages ...... next to nothing from Brighton we looked good.

The Murray incident .... moved his arm to the ball but could be argued a natural reaction to protect his head / face. Seen then given seen them not ........

My inner Albion spirit of hope and enthusiasm has been rekindled ...... strange how one result after so much dross can lift your spirit so quickly ..... now watch Albion crush it with a poor performance at goodison.

Come on you Baggies ....... the great escape 2 .... there are more than three teams worse than us so renewed faith in there being a premier league BCD next season.

PRIDE OF THE MIDLANDS ......... WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE.

Not racist in my view, but noseist. Terrible slur. Lifetime ban

All JRod did was to petulantly say Bong had bad breath. Players do it all the time, it’s not racist in any way shape or form. I don’t like racists but if that’s all it is Bong needs to grow up.

I thought it was obvious, JRod was winding bong up by making reference to his bad breath. Not racist in the least, if the FA make anything of it then that's a disgrace.

Presuming Evans moves on, I'd make Hegazi skipper. He's just immense every week.

(By the way, Bongo was seen buying a Balti pie about 1.30 down the Brummie Road.)
