Don't think so, the ball was too quick. Looking at the video he loses sight of the striker over his shoulder, doesn't position himself quickly enough and is forced to try the outrageous clearance instead. If he'd stuck with his man he could have blocked the ball or the striker, or cleared it out for a throw-in, or even head it back to the keeper, perhaps.
Edit: Most likely given his lack of pace, he would have blocked the run, and the ball goes through for a throw-in.

It was shocking defending for the first goal and once again fred if you want to start throwing insults about , then be a man and stop hiding behind a keyboard.
I'll quite happily come into edinburgh and do it like an adult over a pint.

We're talking about the game only.
Aye he should've Trus.
Serious note Trus can Rangers afford to bin McCoist?? he's clearly not good enough yet he's being retained is it the club being loyal or purely financial,I promise that's no a WUM.
I kinda wandered from the game but because McCoist had his part to play I'm just asking opinion on his future.

The board and McCoist have both said that we can afford to sack him.
Personally I don't think there's an appetite amongst the board to do so though. It would come down to McCoist himself to make the decsion.

He will have to be pushed Trus there is no way he will leave of his own volition.

I wonder how much of the ill-feeling towards his management style he is actually aware of?
Let's face it, he'll not be reading the forums or listening to the sports phone-ins. The only way he'll know is through the fans at the games and through the questions he's asked by the media that are allowed to ask, and as of late neither are making much noise in that respect.
