Hibs v Rangers, Wed 13 December, KO 7.45pm

The league matches are now arriving 'thick n fast' and Rangers at ER Stadium is IMO a reasonable challenge after watching the Huns 'get away with murder' v Ross County who should have beaten them at Ibronx on Saturday. There were some occasions in this match where the shenanigans in the Rangers pen box looked like a scenario from a typical schools' match. I just hope Hibs are 'fresh enough' and 'show up' to apply a 'high pressing game' on Rangers who generally do not play well in Embro in recent times. They have registered a 3 match unbeaten run and I certainly believe that is a deception and Hibs have a good chance of not just beating them but beating them well!! Same again Hibs but lets 'keep it tight at the back'!

On balance I'd go 4-4-2 for this one with stokesy playing just off simon murray. Efe moves to RB..... He really was excellent on sunday.

Cant believe we lost that game, had to check the result there to make sure it wasn't all a bad dream. We controlled the game pretty much from start to finish and battered them 2nd half. Even murty admitted they were lucky.

A daft 5 mins with some pretty ropey goalkeeping has cost us 3 points. And some pretty ropey refereeing too,it was as clear a penalty as you will see but no way were hibs going to get that from the SFA officials v them.

Foderingham played very well to be fair, and we spurned several chances, hit the woodwork twice. Sometimes you just don't get what you deserve in football,if we had won the game by 2 or 3 the huns could have had no complaints.

In retrospect we maybe shouldnt have started with young oli, but its hard to complain too much when you have played so well and just not got what you deserved.

We`ve all come away from games thinking luck was against us but last night it gave us a kick in the goolies. I thought we totally controlled the game but even a mistake by our keeper should have seen at least a share of the points. A very poor refereeing decision,or non decision, gave Rangers a point and that hurts as much as anything.

aye wattie. rocky didn't have his best evening for sure.

Still as my brother said after the game, if we play with that kind of quality and application into the rest of the season we should be ok.

Lenny rightly scathing, post match, of a stonewall pen denied again by another SFA official. Look at the tv video replay of that incident and the AR has an unimpeded view of the offender, Bates, who clearly thought there was a Hibs forward behind him and deliberately 'armed' the ball! Why is this toxic footie club being given such decisions??? They deserved nowt, not even a draw last night and their own manager admitted it! I think my original OP was accurate - Rangers so called 'good form' is a deception and they are as single dimensional as I've seen this season! A second place challenger??? No way based on my observations last night and I'm happy with Hibs progress and our general 'high pressing game' - its good to watch compared with that kinda poor, negative Rangers display last night. They were lucky, pure n simple, and I hope another opponent does exactly the same to their fans - total domination of a match and 'sucker punched'!! Also they have lost Miller for a number of weeks and that will be a big loss to them. They are actually due a thrashing by a high pressing side and, on another night, it could well have been 5-1 for Hibs after 65 mins. The 'pivotal moment' for me was Boyle's 'miss' (to make it a deserved 2-0 score line) after a terrific 'through pass' by young Shaw - he did not 'ping it' past Foderingham in the same way that Windass did it!!! Thumb down We need to convert more of the scoring opps that are created - that was the main lesson learnt tonight! Do we need another decent striker? I think we do need one. Sparky?

I think its more our inability to keep clean sheets that has been a bit frustrating. But we are coming up against better quality players.

But aye, its clear the Lithuanian boy isn't going to get a chance,so we might have to look another option in January. It wont be Griffiths though, celtic aren't going to loan him out.

wonder if we will get a week of recriminations in the media about this decision the way we did after Celtics pen against motherwell?
no I didn't think so either

It just proves again this 'Rangers bias' that clearly 'simmers in the background' of media and certain footie 'hangers on' alike and the hypocrisy and double standards are clear for all to see! However, that won't save Rangers from another season of ignominy because they clearly do not have the players OR A REPUTABLE MANAGER EITHER!!! IMO both their current full backs are 'mince' and there are others who are definitely not gonna 'last a winter season' and are certainly not up for any fight! They are a con!

Of course I forgot that we sold Jason to Forest!! He would definitely have scored one or two goals last night had he been one of Lenny's striking options!
