Not O'Neil for me (nor his Southern Irish namesake). From what I've seen of Northern Ireland, he seems to play a very similar style to Pulis (in fairness he is limited by the players he has available).

I'm with you on that one, Zinman. But I can't quite see our board going for any of the exciting choices, sadly.
And, of course, they may not sack TP...

O'Neil may just have been me in jest. I did suggest it after the NI loss, not sure if I would like him really. Besides which I have to keeps checking which O'Neil is which

To be honest, I'm just as against tippy tappy possession football that is all played in midfield, as I am defending and playing on the break.
The problemo is THIS year our defending has been very patchy, and we've carried absolutely no threat on the break......we've not even been lined up to play fast, effective football on the break. The frustrating thing is that the Palace team under Pulis played this game so well, so he CAN be more positive. He's even got the players now, so there's no excuse. The point I'm (clumsily) making is that I wouldn't mind at all if a new HC played that way, but used the attacking options that we HAVE now got, effectively, and with intent.

Just back (in Cornwall) from my 2nd watch of the season, and was chuffed to meet up with my old mates in the East Stand....
One had written this time last week to ask if he and his wife could get a refund on their Away S/T, saying he realised that WBA was a business these days, and not a Football Club, but the football was so unwatchable that he was even giving it 3 months before they stopped watching altogether! (He hasn't received a reply yet!) Another mate, who travels 120 miles round trip with his 2 sons phoned his wife at 1/2 time (who was visiting relatives) to come and fetch him. His wife phoned back as the team came out 2nd half, and he was off! Several others cleared off not long after. I left 5 mins before the end to get the train before the cockney rabble. That's the 1st time I've ever left before the end of a match, the 1st time in nearly 800 matches. I've never seen an Albion team so easily beaten in nearly 60 years. Even Jonny Evans and Gary Mac played as if they weren't even playing for their Northern Ireland future - there was no fire in even their bellies. The Pole was rightly subbed at 1/2 time. Barry and Phillips were ineffectual, as were Gibbs and JR. Even Foster made silly mistakes, and as for Rondon....!! Hegazy played his heart out, and Liversalts played exactly like he has done since he put on an Albion or England shirt. My MoM by a mile was Yacob, who could do The Pole AND Liversalts' job on his own, to free a shirt. These players just don't want to play for Pulis and Megson - it's blindingly obvious. And any 1/2 decent forward player would be mad to join us in January, if Mr.Lai thinks he can solve the problem with his purse. Glad to get that off my chest.

Spot on, 78.
At the very least he looks as if he cares.
