Huddersfield make the relatively short journey down south to face bournemouth this weekend, we'll its short if you are aaron mooy or steve mounie who have both made rather long intercontinental trips over the past week and a bit, with mooy still yet to return from australia.

Lets be fair though, it is still a long way for the ordinary fan and one would imagine that a fair few of the southern based terriers will be more likely to get their terries fix than most of us northerners, although some of us crazy northern bunch may decide to have a nice long weekend in bournemouth, but for me it is about two months too late, so i'll be tucked up nice and cosily in the warmth of my home and I may try to find it online, but dont tell the authorities  

Before we go into saturdays game, lets see how our senior internationals did. Well, mooy was involved in australia's two legged playoff against honduras, he played the full 90 minutes in the second leg victory, picking up a booking in the process, the bald mystero played the full 90 in the first leg too, so didnt get much rest over the 'break'. Steve mounie featured for Benin and got some valuable game time in to his legs, whilst Jonas Lossl and Zanka were both unused subs in both of denmarks games against the republic of ireland. Elsewhere, danny williams made his return to the us of a fold against portugual the other day, captaining a young side in the process, finally, the beast joined up with the belgian squad but the clueless manager decided against using him for some appartant reason. answers on a postcard please.



Okay, so onto saturday, and as mentioned, we make the journey to bournemouth, who havent the greatest of first halves to the season i think it is fair to say, sitting one place outside of the relegation places on 10 points. However, they do come into the game on the back of a later winner up a newcastle, but they havent won at home in the league since a 2-1 win over Brighton back in september.

The last time the two sides met was back in bournemouths promotion season where the two sides drew 1-1 down at dean court (vitality stadium) whilst the game at the john smiths was the first game of the season where the cherries ran out 4-0 winners in what would be mark robbins' final game at the helm. The two sides have played out a fair few decent games, with one being a 5-1 victory to town, where james vaughan bagged a hattrick, however, most of the memorable games have been in the playoffs. Kevin Kilbane scored in a 1-1 draw darn sarf whilst the return leg saw town reach the final after a 3-3 draw, with anthony kay scoring in the 105 minute straight after danny ings had given the cherries the lead. In the end after all the jubilation, town would go to old trafford and fail to turn up against Peterborough.



So what has happened down on the south coast?

Well, a russian oligarc has purchased the majority of the club and has invested rather heavily into the squad, whilst eddie howe remains the manager and has not overly disrupted the core of the side, adding specific players rather than the kid in a candy shop routine. One player they have brought in this season is jermaine defoe, but he has yet to achieve take off and it could be a case that his age in now finally starting to catch up with him. they also spent heavily on nathan ake and asmir begovic both from chelsea. Elsewhere in their squad they have former town loanee benik afobe who they signed from wolves a few years back, however, he too has failed to set the south coast alight.

In terms of performances, as has been said they havent had a great season so far and havent been great at home, whilst town on the other hand have looked fearful in their last few away games, so this could be another war of attrition, however the compact ground and the way that howe likes to play football could mean that the counter option might not be readily available and as such we may have to keep someone near to lolo in order to exploit any sort of space that becomes available as it may vanish pretty quick. in regards to team news, a late decision will be made on aaron mooy, whilst mounie will stay on the bench. Schindler misses out through suspension with cranie replacing him, whilst hef and stankovic are both 4-6 weeks away from being available. Kasey palmer will probably miss out again, but he is expected to continue his comeback for the under 23's ahead of being an option for the game against manchester city a week on sunday.



for those travelling, good luck, if you are driving down i'd imagine you'd head towards oxford or swindon and then towards southampton before veering off onto bournemouth. In other words get the coach or fly down. unless you are based down there anyways. if so you would probably be able to hop on a choo choo

Early start for us tomorrow morning thanks to 'engineering works' on the railway...06:18 departure from Wakey and if all goes to plan then back at Wakey for 00:07 on Sunday morning. LONG day out!

As with every other game we've had against a struggling team I'd quite happily settle for a point now. Plenty of quality in the Bore Muff squad and a little bit more top flight experience as well.

This one sold out before I noticed they went on sale. Still the sarf coast ain't the warmest place to be in November is it? Like you jjamez I'll be looking up anything that might be available on a foreign telly stream on Mobdro or UKTVNow if i'm not in a nice warm pub somewhere watching Jeff and the lads shouting and screaming at their tellybox's.

Happily take a point this weekend as there's a few other bottom 14 playing each other and the rest are playing top 6, apart from that match in Norf Larndan tarn that is. They can't all win, but it would be nice to get another one away from home under our belts. With 15 Prima Donna league goals between us, it hardly screams goal-fest now does it?
