Well it's the last of three fixtures that were gonna be 'testy' for Hibs and they've lost the first two matches v the current top two footie sides in the Scottish Premiership. Now we move on to the first derby match of the season v opposition that is definitely of lesser quality and will possibly just sneak in to the top six spot in the latter part of the season if luck favours them. However, we'll be playing in a fixture where the opposing manager is Mr Negativity personified and we'll see the usual 'difficult to beat' (back to the bad old days) scenario where Hearts will try to 'steal the match' unless Hibs embrace this fixture in an attacking sense and win it with aplomb.I've previously commented in another thread that we've sold on our talismanic derby striker, Jason Cummings, and that is a concern to lose a striker who was never fazed by this fixture and always had 'something to prove' against them. I just pray that our new strikers 'take up the mantle' and win this match thereby extending Hibs unbeaten run in this fixture and put Levein, a negative footie manager and ex player, who I've never rated, firmly in his place! I'd love to see a 'thrashing' where all scoring shots and Lady Luck 'go our way' but that's wishful thinking on my part. Also it's prob too early, but I'd like to see Darren Mac's return asap - we're losing too many soft goals. On that note, will Laidlaw lose his place to Rocky as well?

I'd like McGregor back too,but I hear he is out til December.
Hertz full backs look vulnerable,so i'd start with boyle and barker out wide.

Bartley Mcgeough Mcginn

Like your team jim and agree about their defenders being vulnereable but I would go with Murray instead of stokes his non stop running would upset them even more.
Or maybe play Boyle or barker with stokes and Murray up top bringing the other player in Boyle or barker on to keep fresh legs with pace continually running at them.
We all no now Harry potter will set them up not to lose so we've gotta get them turning and get the ball behind them with good balls into the box for the strikers also like to see young Oli Shaw coming on at some stage young players have no fear as he proved on Saturday v Celtic
C'mon the hibs

Stokesy is apparently doubtful to play in this match. So it could well be Simon Murray 'up top' with AN Other alongside him as we need a support partner up there to back him up and 'make things happen'. Listening to some Hearts fans saying that the best part of their game @ Murrayfield on Saturday was going to the pub after it - forget the 1-0 result, apparently they were 'mince' and it sounded like a typical 'Potterism' in providing boring footie. IMO Hibs themselves are still capable of losing this match as we all know - play well, miss lotsa good scoring opps and either pick up a pt or lose another game due to some kinda gaffe or a lack of awareness. However, there is a certain positive dynamic that Hibs definitely have compared with Hearts/Levein's current poor offering to their fans - lets hope that positivity flourishes in this match and we win it!

The ball will be in the air so much the night our players are likely to pick up neck injuries.

A rumour circulating that McGinn has a niggling hamstring injury. IMO it's either Slivka or young Shaw to pick up McGinn's mid role if that injury is confirmed.

A much needed and deserved win the night, puts us back up the table a bit. The manager was under a wee bit of pressure to get the win but i think he got the team right. Our midfield was excellent, mcgeough especially. He's just a class player and we have all said on here if he can stay fit he can really be one of the best players in the country. Special mention to bartley who protected the defence so well over the 90,and our wingers who never let up all night and gave their full backs a torrid time.
How the feck hertz finished that game with 11 players i just don't know. The young lad should have walked and Did walker even get booked ? Laugherty's elbow on ambrose was bang out of order as well. Their style of football is certainly 'agricultural',zero pace to it just long baw after long baw, must be shite to watch.
On the other hand we won just about every loose ball, and our passing and pace was just much, much better. We really should have won by more.

I think we are set up well, play good stuff, can handle the big games ok. I can't think of any team thats physically put us away either, maybe the sheep...maybe.
Its all about getting a bit more out of the bread and butter games,if we can do that we will be in good shape.
