Prediction League Tables Week 8
#1

Welcome back guys
So did anyone of you need the International break to refresh your prediction instinct or did come at a bad time ?
Well it seems like most of you found some form and some decent scores have emerged.
One or two struggled but that's the nature of mainly the use of the Gamball.
So let's start at the top and congratulations Twerton at last finding some form,
A Correct Score on the Gamble helping him on his way to a impressive 21 points,
His clever use of Bonus and insurance Balls also allowed him not to lose major points anywhere,
Star of the show in my eyes this week was Amelia, Heard of a game of two halves?
Take a look at her first 5 Games, all of them wrong and heading for a disaster,
Then the recovery started with a Wolves win on her Gamball, another correct result followed, then what happened on Sunday was amazing
ALL 3 of her predictions were correct scores meaning 12 of the 16 points came on Sunday WOW !!!!!!!!!!!
Coming in with 13 points in 3rd is Mr consistency DD, Can you post earlier so some of us can copy and paste please   Whistle
Just a point behind DD with 12 points is another consistent player and coming in 4th we have St Charles who seems to be consolidating at the top end,
Unusual in a lot of Ways was Derby's scores he only got 1 correct score and one correct result, Yet a 16 point Gamball meant he recovered to ten points and to fifth position ..Somehow   Huh
In 6th we have Zinman who just seems to be lucky most of the time, he got 9 points despite losing four on his Gamball and then the luck kicked in with 3 correct scores including one on his Bonus, I'm sure his luck will run out soon !!
Sanjay had a steady day and gained 7 points , Matt predicted well but his Gamball choice slipped him back to 8th and 5 points and well WorldClass is simply not living up to his name, he got a correct result on the Gamball which saved him from complete humiliation as he finished 9th on a lowly 2 points,
Bringing up the rear is a rare one for BBB, challenging well at the top for so long the slide continued this week with a amazing run of poor predictions, not helped by the fact he got his Gamball prediction so wrong and went for a Villa win, not many predicted that did we   Sick
With just two correct results it adds up to disaster and = -7, this on a week of decent scores will see BBB as this week's big loser...
See you all next week with another set of mind blowing fixtures to work through .....
Oh and look out for our BRAND NEW prediction heading at the top of the fixtures it's pretty cool and now gets us rite up to date
Cheers
Beefy   Thumb up

Premiership
If anyone had thought about gate-crashing the top 3 party, then this week wasn’t the week for doing it. All 3 consolidated their positions at the top of the league, as DD continued with his impressive consistent run of recent weeks to extend his lead over Derby in 2nd spot to 32 points.
St Charles inches ever closer to 2nd spot sitting just a solitary point away in 3rd, and it’s no coincidence that the top 3 all have decent Gamball records or Bonus Ball success – or both.
Sanjay lost ground on the 3 above him but strengthened his grip on 4th spot, as BBB suffered a mare of a week with only a 7th consecutive save with his Insurance ball stopping it from being worse, it did though cost him 5th place as Amelia broke into the top 5 for the first time this season The 5 point gap from 4th to 5th is now 14 a week later
Twerton proved what a good week can do as he climbed 2 places into 7th and within touching distance of the two directly above him
In the lower reaches of the league Zinman did his cause no harm with a personal best haul of points this season although he is yet to score double figures in a single week. A bit like he pointed out I hadn’t a couple of weeks earlier (but that was a couple of weeks ago Whistle ) He does keep himself comfortably clear of the bottom 2 however.
MattWBA continued to chip away with another positive week and a climb of a place to 9th since joining with a negative score just 4 weeks ago.
Worldclass continues his struggles at the bottom of the table, still trying to make up for the week he went AWOL.

Firstly, shame on all of you for wanting either Wolves or Villa to win this weekend. The only acceptable prediction for this game was a 0 0 draw and the match abandoned with both sides having 4 players sent off - or "doing a Colin" as it's known.
OK rant over. Sadly Salop didn't submit any scores this week but everyone who did was brave enough to play the gamball and 8 of the nine got the result correct with only 1 unnamed individual getting it wrong.....but more about Beefy later. Stairs heads the table this week with a solid 14 points due to getting 50% of the results right. Bomber comes in 2nd thanks to the gamball and a correct score on his bonus. The league leaders, 4eva and Baggieone, were rather less successful this week enabling their closest challenger Snooty to make a slight dent in their lead.
By not predicting, Salop managed to keep Beefy off the bottom this week, though it has to said that Beef did manage to double his points to date. So on "moving Sunday" as someone called it, Beefy managed to move.......nowhere.

Championship
Only 2 movers this week although points wise things are closing up nicely in mid table, so as we approach the quarter stage of the season 4eva & Baggieone maintained their 1st & 2nd places with the 17 point deficit still intact after all the pluses and minuses were totted up, Baggieone having a profitable rethink on his originals as kick offs drew closer on Friday.
8 points then to 3rd placed Snooty, whose reliance on his insurance ball saved him another point, that’s 8 points in 8 weeks so far.
Salop’s no show did him no favours as he lost ground on the top 3 but still managed to hold on to 4th spot, although Bournemouth did close the gap in 5th with only 2 points separating them now.
Bomber got his first double figure score of the season which helped to edge him a little closer to those directly above, while also extending his advantage over BaggieVicar in 7th. Bomber tells me he finds it very difficult talking in third person and has vowed to come up with an alternative. However, I have my doubts, and remember those are his words not mine Big Grin .
Quantum remains in 8th and has closed the gap on 7th to only 6 points but is only 3 points ahead of the bottom 2 where the only movements of the week happened.
Stairs finally got some Gamball points on the board after 8 attempts to move off the bottom into 9th, rumours that he was seen waving a black and gold scarf on Saturday night are yet to be confirmed.
Beefys Wolves & Villa half and half scarf didn’t work and he hit the bottom with a resounding thud. Look on the bright side mate things can only get better Tongue .

The Gamball is killing me - but the lure of 16 points is too tempting  Angry

Taking heart from Stairs getting off the mark, sooner rather than later - I hope  Thumb up

No let's not take heart from Stairs because it means others suffer from his good performance
As I say it will be someone else's turn next week when I'm the first to hit thirty points from just a week of predictions Cool
