We need to avoid managers who have been sacked numerous times.Ive said before we dont want a manager who is a serial failure like Wilson even though he might have had experience .
Id love to find another progressive one like Paul Cook ,someone who is on his way up but has the knowledge and experience to cope with league two and has had success.Even better we find an unknown ,untried gem ,all good managers have to start somewhere.Big risk though.
Thats why I was ok with the GC appointment he was quite progressive and had a good footballing philosophy even though he had been sacked by Wigan some said it was premature so he was worth another chance. However it has turned out to be a disaster and I really cant see him turning this around.Looks like he might be given Tuesday at least now .
Finding a good replacement will be difficult ,almost like throwing a dart blindfolded and hoping we get the bullseye.
Like Dancing suggested ,our best option may be to pay for an in work manager ,the only time we have done this was with Cook.Someone young who is having success at non league level perhaps.

This is the whole trouble with the sack-Danny-bring-in-the-idiot scenario is we are now left with with very difficult options in how to move forward. We have a backroom chosen by the same idiot and a squad purpose-built-to-fail by him and no transfer window in sight. Taken alongside no proper board, and no real organisation or realistic finance this is the corner into which we've painted ourselves. If we sack Ken who will move and how quick in any direction to replace him and what happens to all his disgruntled buddies in the boot locker?
Hartlepool tried Ronnie Moore during their two-to-three-year slide into obscurity. Ridiculous choice. Coleman and Hill only really succeed where they are now, not elsewhere. When you think about it why would any currently employed league manager take us on - every club in the league is better than us. What are we but a nice stadium?
My choices would be men like The Hump, Jack Lester, Kevin Davies, Kevin Wilson, Steve Chettle because we're already in the position of a losing gambler desperately rolling the dice. We need someone who wants to make his name turning us round and who would seize the chance to build. An ex-league player succeeding in non-league management maybe?
I'm not usually a big sack-the-manager man, because I don't believe in all this shit of an all-knowing saviour coming in to rescue teams ........ In the end players will rescue us, but under this manager they clearly don't know what they are doing. GC speaks to them at length before the game, has a plan and within six minutes we concede. The team goes in at half-time to see the manager again, within two minutes they concede again. How could anyone conclude that the current manager's effect is anything but wholly negative? He took over a team struggling to keep its head above water last season and drowned it within a few weeks. This season we've watched him painting his own picture. It was like one of those Rolf-Harris jobs, only it didn't suddenly turn out to be kangaroos in the Australian bush with Eucalyptus trees, it really was just blobs and shapes that none of us got!
I've bought the Non-League Paper again Blue. That's where we are going.
Here's another managerial suggestion for you - Aaron Downes. He could do it!
Here's another worry. Is Tommy fit? Intercepted throw? Did throwing hurt his shoulder? Anyon till Christmas anyone?
If Blue's endless supply of optimism has run dry what do we do?
Couple of suggestions for Tuesday - we surely have to start Maguire and as we never score with O'Grady let's not play him. Personally I'd play Hird and Wiseman as defensive midfielders in front of a back four and see if there is any way we can keep the score below 4.

Having looked at the stats and 'highlights' they had 12 efforts to our 10 with 50 % possession. But they had 7 on target of which 5 went in and looking at them they didnt look that difficult to save so there is the suggestion that Tommy isnt right .
There is some absolute shite spouted on Bobs baord isnt there ?
Some moaning that Guy Branston will be next manager ,I tell you ,that isnt going to happen .No matter what people think of AC he does actually note what the fans think and there is no way he would appoint such an unpopular choice .

It looks like Caldwell has got more time. We lose badly on Tuesday at Colchester then Accrington at home next Saturday isn't going to be pretty.
The problem we've got if or when Caldwell goes is who is going to replace him? I doubt we can afford to get a manager whose already at a club. We need an experienced manager who knows this division. Also it will be 3 managers in 2 years now if you were a football manager and you saw a club had 3 managers in 2 years would you be interested? or would you be thinking hang on 3 managers in 2 years something isn't quite right.

According to Radio Sheff there was a board meeting yesterday. He should be walking this morning and shouldn't be allowed near a team sheet again.

If you have not done your job ........ and surely occasionally winning football matches is surely part of the job description ..... you can be sacked. Just sacked, not paid off. Dumped.
Employers do it all the time. Let the introverted Gary got to court and argue his case. In the mean time we'll have spent the money on someone new. By that time we'll either be out of the league and not give a flying **** or we'll be in the league and think it's worth it. In the meantime GC will be the man who couldn't win, which he IS! He'll never work again.
