Sports Babble was hacked today by Chaos Hackerz who are commissioned to close sites. Whilst Mark quickly got us back up and running and we don't think this was done to get any of our members' details, it is still advisable to change your password to the site. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We knew it was them as their page appeared instead of the SB home page. Didn't seem to affect any other pages on the site, so if you don't navigate the site much you probably wouldn't have even noticed. I assume looking at the various articles about them they will attack any site if someone pays them to do so!! No idea why it happened but it was sorted quickly by Mark and appears not to have done anything aside from that, but it would be prudent to change your password anyway.

Yeah I have done Thumb up, I always do as you say Whistle

Must be fun in their "offices" (spare bedrooms at their respective mum's house). All sat sniggering down their headsets to each other.

Mike (not you charlie Laugh ): "Look Phil, I just hacked a sports forum that has 200 active users"

Phil (mike's internet friend): "yeah well, I just got a 360 quickscope, double headshot on COD. I'm on a 39 kill streak and my K/D is now 7.1. Beat that you noob"

Simon (some 12yo over headset): "You're a fuucking bullshitter Phil. Your mom told me you got head shotted when I was doing her last night"

Phil: "shut up Simon or I'll hack you like mike did to that sports babble you douchebaaag"

I reckon you are probably right on that conversation between the geeks!! Its funny but something similar to this happened to New606 a few weeks after it was first launched, put the site down for a few days from memory but James was owner then and he got it back up and running. This attack was weak at best but still worrying, certainly spoiled Mark's Sunday afternoon but security has probably been increased or changed and I am sure these things go on every day!!

I probably got it wrong regarding spending $90 then. The mystery backer behind these masked vigilantes probably only bought the $80 package.

They can't be that good, they didn't even DOS the site into oblivion, and if they tried they failed and seemingly only changed the home page.
The very fact you regained control so easily proves this. I suppose we can speculate all day as to who and why. But we do know that whomever it is, is either practicing hacking on random sites, or hired a complete, inept numpty to specifically hack this one.

If only they could hack the .gov sites or disrupt global corporations, what a waste of time these little shits are
