Pointless - this week W, X, Y, or Z
What school Silver?

Mine was Moseley and I do seem to vaguely remember George Dixon's grammar school was in Birmingham town centre area?

Navigation Street was where I have a lasting memory of seeing the old trams trundling along. Not sure how old I was but guess around 6 or 7.

You could have a really good night out for ten bob -  a few pints, a packet of fags, a meat pie and a good woman all for ten bob. My old dad used to say "They'll be no meat in them pies!"

Dredging my memory and I'll blame old age if I'm wrong but Mickey Perry (can't remember exactly when - 70s or 80s?). What I do remember about him was the orange hair.....lots of it.

I travelled right across Brum from West Heath To Handsworth Tech. So used to walk up Hill Street across Colmore Row and caught another bus for Soho Road and Handsworth somewhere near Snow Hill Station.
Had only one school mate who lived near me who persuaded me to cycle with him to school and did that a few times but, there must be easier ways to commit suicide.
One special memory was of going home on a Saturday from the match and at the corner of Navigation St and Hill Street there was always a guy selling baked potatoes which were served in a small paper cone and smothered in salt. Just the job on a chilly damp miserable evening. Rolleyes

Back on topic:- what about Ray Potter a very dedicated substitute goalkeeper. I must have seen him play for he was Albion's understudy for about six years and in all that time only made 8 appearances. (Yes sorry used a history book on that just to be sure of my facts.

Ali Robertson perfect foil for John Wile.

And Albion's captain in the 60's the incomparable Bobby Robson
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
