Team to start against SHEFFC

Very very glad about Ricky. Strong and hungry. What more do you need in a centre forward? Well ...... scores a cracker, that's what.

I can see the point in bringing everyone back for a corner ........ if that's what GCe intends for every opposition corner in the season. Making stuff a habit can be good ....... so long as it's a good habit that works.

Good that Sinnott impressed. Probably it is also a good thing that midfield didn't work. We've a month to sign one or two players to make it work. IF they'd cut Sheffield to pieces maybe we'd have thought ....... this could work, put the chequebook away!

I think we all need to calm down. We played a friendly against a team who are 4 divisions below us. If we had beaten the likes of Chelsea or Manchester United first team then I could understand the hype but like I said in my last post friendlies mean nothing, all friendlies are for is fitness, confidence, morale and to try out and test different formations, tactics and to see who is likely to gain a spot in the starting XI for the season.

Saturday 5th August at home to Grimsby will be the big test and the most important because its 3 pts at stake, obviously it won't be season defining but the first 10-15 games can give you roughly an idea where you are likely to end up come the end of the season.

I think we will get some idea from the friendlies how we are progressing so I will be attending the Matlock and the home games and hope to see us progress as we build up to August 5th.
