WBA Transfer Window - Final Day
Sigh of relief - John Terry signs for Villa. A good move for Villa as he'll help develop the kids and put in a good shift, But not someone I'd want at West Brom.

Don't get me wrong, I liked him back in 2014 pre injury. But it's one hell of a fee for a player who has been on the treatment table for 80% of the last 3 years.

Just hope our staff and medical team really know what they are doing and he can stay fit.

Glad there's a done deal though as I was getting worried we were planning to just make up the numbers. The other links are very positive and just crossing everything that Rodriguez can put his injuries behind him.

I do agree Slick, but fees have got crazier and crazier over the past few years, I guess the clubs also have to have brexit at the back of their minds as well and their oversea's player limits. I suppose a good comparison starting point could be what we got for Berahino.

Just seen this on SSN, can't make any sense of it to be honest. Buy a player from Vitesse Arnhem then loan him out for 2 years to Werder Bremen Huh  Huh

Allegedly an investment for the future or maybe he is "someones" nephew or something like that.  Whistle  Whistle
The reason behind this loan deal is because the Baggies couldn’t get a work permit for Zhang and so instead will continue his development in Germany’s highest league.

I think if you read between the lines we would not get a work permit for him at the moment as China are outside the top 50 on Fifa's World rankings

In Two years time China probably will be or at least the two years in Germany will allow us to get a permit one way or another in 2019 Huh

Also the biggest talent in China for years ............. Apparently Whistle

Already capped 9 times for China !!

West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Chinese international striker Zhang Yuning.

The 20-year-old forward, considered one of China's hottest young prospects, has signed a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Capped nine times by China, Yuning will have to wait to make his Baggies bow having immediately joined Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on loan for two years owing to work permit issues.

Yuning's arrival from Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem furthers Albion's Chinese links in a deal described as a "development project" by the Club.

Richard Garlick, Albion's Director of Football Administration, flew to Germany this week to tie up the details of the three-club deal.

"Zhang will get the chance to further develop at Bremen, with whom we have an excellent relationship," Garlick said.

"He will be challenging for a place in a top European league and we will be monitoring his progress before reassessing his prospects at the end of the loan period.

"There is no doubt he has a lot of qualities which Bremen are well-positioned to grow and develop.

I know I am getting older and my eyesight is not what it was, but is it just me who is worried about telling Morrison and Rodriguez apart from one end of the field to the other?

Looks like Iborra is going to Leicester...

Gutted with this, actually started to have a bit of enthusiasm after this link and it's been completely sucked out of me. The realisation is setting in that we're only going to get players that nobody else wants, as usual.

Well that sucks a giant bag of dicks. http://www.barryanddistrictnews.co.uk/sp...te_Iborra/

It would be typical Albion however if our first choice target is another midfielder such as Ignacio Camacho and Iborra was our back up option.

Regarding Rodriguez I am hoping that we have signed him as a left winger who can play as a striker if required. I'm thinking a midfield 4 of Phillips, Yacob/New signing, Livermore and Rodriguez with Chadli playing behind the lone striker would give us the right balance between attack and defence.
