My take on it is this .
O'G isnt a goalscorer but is a very effective member of the attacking department because hes a creator .if they can get the ball to him he will create as many goals as a good midfielder would

I hope you are right Blue because our midfield was shocking last year. Its the one area so far we haven't improved, in fact its been weakened (if that were possible) by player departures. We need somebody in the Morsy mould to break play up and take the ball forward. Dimao is not reliable enough, he is capable but has 1 good game in 5. We have a gaping hole in the centre of midfield. Unless we play the likes of Hird and McGinn in there we will be overrun - again.

That nice Mr Carson says if we buy more season tickets he will have enough money to buy a midfielder so don't expect anything too soon.

There's a lotta lotta season tickets to one good midfielder.

There's no better passer than Mark Randall in Div Two - that should send a few fans to the defibrillator. Until they find out Crawley signed him a few minutes ago.

I'll make two suggestions - Elton Ngwatala from Kidderminster, I've been on about him for ages, their website suggests a Div 1 club is interested ........ but he won't be dear from cash-strapped Kiddie and he's excellent, why not have a go OR Pompey released Stanley Aborah - he can pass but he does need the rest of the team to be good enough to get on his wavelength.

Bob's Board has posters bracketing O'Grady with Jack Lester. He's scored 86 in his career. That's 6 or 7 a season. If we've pushed the boat out with his contract as is suggested he must return the faith by creating chances for the likes of Gozie and Dennis ...... as well as notching a few.

I'm not sure Burton's fans were in love with COG BUT they did survive in the Championship. If you'd have told them that might happen ten years they'd have had you certified.

My biggest worry now is centre halves assuming he is going to play with at least two .we have veteran Evo ,youngster Lawro and Hirdo .if one gets injured we might struggle .

With at least ten defenders I don't think we need to worry about defensive positions. McGinn or Binnom-Williams could probably do a job there in an emergency.

Worry instead about a manager who tells us his commitment is to a passing game and has signed only defenders and attackers. If we're going to keep possession who's going in the black hole? Doctor Who, Professor Hawking, Captain Kirk. Star Trek, there's an idea! Maybe we can sign Patrick Stewart from Huddersfield ........ we can't afford their players but we might just grab a supporter.

At least the youth policy is working in Derbyshire. A 16 year-old former Afghan wins us a cricket match for the first time since Venkatraghavan retired. And the new UK women's 100 metres hurdles champion is a 19 year old from Chesterfield called Alicia Barratt. So maybe we don't need to scour the universe, maybe Joe Rowley and Charlie Wakefield will run the legs off every midfield and feed Ricky German terrorising unsuspecting defences.
