This season will be determined in the first month, do well and we might survive, a poor start and I don't think we will get over it. As Dev says if by some miracle GC takes us up I will be ecstatic but if after 2 months we are in the bottom 6 or 8 he needs to go.
You can't get rid of a manager after 2 months if things aren't going well.
On paper we should get at least 10 pts out of 12 in the first 4 games of the season.

I'm holding you to that Dancing ,when you say pulling it off I take it you mean promotion ?,just to be clear on this .No doubt you will set the bar high so you don't have to expose yourself .
I'm making no firm predictions at the moment because I have no idea how good our players in our incomplete squad are and how they will gel as a team and to be honest neither does anyone else.

Blue, I'm 6' 5" so the bar needs to be very high. Yes I mean promotion. I will not be pulling it off in front of anybody though and you wont be holding anything belonging to me!

We did the dirty on Danny at just the wrong time. We then shouldn't have reappointed at all. We should have left the Hump in charge. If we'd gone down we could then have decided whether he'd shown enough promise for a decent contract or we were going to appoint a new man.
As it is we have ended up with a Mrs May in charge. GC quickly accepted our help in turning himself into a lame duck. He created all his own detractors with a series of mistakes and defeats that culminated in a much more humiliating relegation than we were facing prior to his arrival. SO, now he has to magic up a team out of limited resources that the fans expect to chase promotion. To make it worse our biggest rivals have a widely-hated manager who is recruiting far more established players than our own. George Osborne says Mrs May is a dead woman woman walking, I bet GC knows she feels. And what of Mr Carson? If this squad can only turn 50% possession into 2 or 3 shots, when does he cry enough and start looking at dismissal procedures? By the end of September we will have played 11 league games, that's almost a quarter of the season. Much as I love Matt's glorious optimism of 4 games 10 points, I'm considering 10 points or fewer by the end of September as a real possibility. And what do we do then ..........?
I'm no bookie, so I've not calculated these odds in my favour, or even seen their odds, but my current assessment of who'll win our division is:-
Accrington 18/1 Colchester 12/1 Grimsby 22/1 Notts Co 33/1
Barnet 40/1 Coventry 15/2 Lincoln 25/1 Port Vale 11/1
Cambridge 16/1 Crawley 50/1 Luton 7/1 Stevenage 28/1
Carlisle 16/1 Crewe 22/1 Mansfield 9/1 Swindon 9/1
Cheltenham 50/1 Exeter 18/1 Morecambe 100/1 Wycombe 22/1
Chesterfield 40/1 Forest Gr 14/1 Newport 66/1 Yeovil 33/1
And of course signing an influential midfielder would change my opinion of our chances. Ricky German scoring four in a friendly, or Tommy Lee being full fit would too ........
I don't think Dancing need contact Robert Carlile and Tom Wilkinson for advice on doing The Full Monty.

Casting for Urquhart - can't quite decide whether it is DA or AC. AC looks the part. DA has the power ..... but is he just dumber and luckier than we think?
No, is the answer Pooch. I'd be embarrassed to take your money and devastated to give you mine!
I feel sorry for GC. He took a job that has turned into a trap. We asked him the near impossible which he signally failed to deliver. Now he can't leave, but if he stays he has to succeed from a worse position than that from which he's already failed, with minimal investment at a club deep in debt and in crisis. I'd be considering jumping from a high building if I were him, not waiting for AC or DA to dangle me from a parapet.

AC has deleted his twitter account today.
Also if GC doesn't last long due to bad results, do you think Branston might take over?

That Ashley Carson is a little tinker isn't he. Leads people up the garden path then gets a tad upset when somebody calls him a bell end. Bit of an attention seeker if you ask me.
Probably for the best he has deleted his twatter account as somebody might hijack it again and say we are a successful well run football club.
