That's a good one, WCA. I thought he was the answer to our prayers when we signed him on loan, but he didn't last long unfortunately.

A few from the Eighties:

Martin Dickinson, a centre-half who came in from Leeds at the tail-end of our relegation from the First Division and continued to be a first-choice defender for a season or two in the Second, before going to Sheffield United.

Paul Dyson, his partner in crime, who spent years at Coventry and Stoke before us and was on his way down the leagues, going on to Darlington and Crewe after us.

Wayne Dobbins, Bromsgrove lad who joined as an apprentice in 1984, turned professional in '86 and spent about five seasons filling in as a midfielder and right-back before moving on to Torquay and Yeovil.

And finally Robbie Dennison, a young Northern Irish winger who we bought off Glenavon in 1985 and kept on the sidelines for a year or two.  No idea what happened to him after that.  He must have dropped off the face of the earth Whistle

Very droll, Ska'd. We did of course let him go to some 4th Division team where he found his level. Laugh

One of those that 'got away'-----John Deehan who played nearly 50 matches for us before joining 'the Vile'.

Jimmy Dugdale another one who went to our more illustrious neighbours. Ha
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

There's also veteran Man City keeper Andy Dibble, who played about nine games on loan for us in 1992.

Good shout, my Scouse friend says that Durnin is still playing in exhibition games for Liverpool masters. He must be about 90!

Ryan Donk (KennyG just beat me to it!) Popped up in Spain (as ex-Albion players do…) playing for Real Betis last season.

Phil Danks. Reserve player from the 70s. Anybody remember him? I do for some obscure reason…

Perry Digweed. Goalkeeper. Never played for Albion (well he did, he played for Brighton) but hey, it’s a great name. We had a centre forward called Paskin who kicked him in the bollocks once and made a horrible mess. Should save that one for “P” I suppose.

Some great names from the past coming up here!

I missed the Scott Darton season 94-95. He apparently had a 'mare in the one game, especially, and was booed by the crowd.
That must have been terrible for a young player in a crap team to be made scapegoat, like that - and it's so unAlbion (!)

What happened that day for reasonable fans to get on a player's back like that? I bet he hates the Club now. Can someone who went to the game tell us how bad he was, and why he wasn't just subbed.
