I agree pooch. I think we should have kept Raglan though.

So this is the team we have left.

Goalkeepers:Lee, Parkin
Defenders: McGinn, Hird, Evatt, Maguire, Smith
Midfielders: Gardner, Mitchell, Dimaio, Nolan, Donohue, Rowley, Brownell
Strikers: Dennis, Simons, German

That depends if the 4 offered contracts sign them.

Matt you missed out German, he has a contract. Who is Smith? We gave 4 youngsters contracts quite recently, is that who Smith is, seems a bit anonymous .........

Blue, we gave German a contract. If we were ditching him there'd be no need for secrecy around him. He'd be a sale. After his eleven goals in 7 minutes though he just disappeared off the RADAR. Now that looks odd. In most struggling teams he'd have been in the first team, unless there was an immediate, secret agreement to sell ......

Matt I'm on your side over Raglan. We should have kept him and he'd have been in the running for team captain.

As for Gardner, it would be easy to be on both sides. Getting sent off at Bramall Lane was the act of a numbskull. Caldwell's indisciplinary record could be a real problem next season if it continues at the current rate.

Smith came through the youth team he's been given a 6 month contract. I've edited it now so it includes German.

So looking at that team we need at least 6 quality signings,.
Goalie to compete with Tommy
Right back for cover, centre half and possibly left back
Central holding midfielder in the Morsy mould.
A proven quality striker to replace Ched when he goes.
The one we need to hold on to is Rowley ,who will be a standout player in League Two

The goalkeeper to compete with Tommy is Parkin.

I think we need another LB, CB, RM and a striker.

I'm thinking we need a striker and a big powerful guy who plays up front too who can win aerial battles at this level, so that's two players, especially if I'm right that someone is buying Ricky German.

An LB who likes pushing forward into wing back looks a necessity. Donohue doesn't seem quite to fill any of the briefs defence to midfield, but he's young and might improve to cover everything.

A CB who is big and fast would be a delight, but we've got three CBs already.

Midfielders; we need more ability to win the ball consistently in midfield AND the ability to drive forward from there and score goals. I'm not sure how much of that we've got in the seven midfielders we already have. Or how many players we have to sign to do it. And who that will maroon on the bench.

I'm happy enough with Dylan Parkin as reserve keeper but I'd like to know that means we have a fully-fit Tommy in prospect. Don't know whether I'd fancy Lincoln and Matt Rhead away with an 18 year-old unproven keeper. It would be a big ask, but then full pro' from a junior is a big ask too.

Am I right in thinking Ofoegbu is a first year student with us, so could be available for another season? It seemed he had definite first-team potential and might provide defensive cover during the season. Or is he now deadwood?

3 at the back is the way it looks. He keeps plugging away with it.
