After months of delay and worry caused to her my 84 year old mother has finally recieved her £140 warm home payment credited to her elcetricity account. This is a government scheme which has been delayed this year. Normally paid in December to help the elderly stay warm over the winter months without worrying about the cost of heating. Imagine my surprise when checking her bill.........
Warm home payment £140. VAT @ 5% £6.66p. Total credit £133.34p.

Don't know about it being generally delayed this year Dingle, my aunt's was credited in December as normal, I only know as I make the application each year for her. Maybe go back and ask what went wrong so it does not happen again.

The number of cars on the road that don't have a registered owner, how are parking/speeding tickets issued and recovered.
Worse still the trend at the moment for idiots crashing into innocent motorists and pedestrians then legging it knowing full well that they can't be traced.
Why can't it be illegal to not register a vehicle, link it to the ANPR software like tax, insurance and MOT, then these cars can be stopped and the driver be fined, be given points or be banned

How set are Leicester fans on embarrassing themselves these days? Just about every match I see them now they're starting up their saft "champions of England, you'll never be that" song. Not content with having sung it to us in November (quick tip: we were champions of England a century before you, you bell-ends), they're now doing it to Derby... who've been champions twice.

Complete and utter cringe.

Struck me as strange and I can not answer, I asked my Aunt to check her statement and she did get credited £140, is it possibly they did actually credited the £140 and were describing the make-up it to be £133.34 + vat@5% £6.66 totalling £140? Not saying that is the reason, I was just wondering, interested to find out though as you are absolutely right as a payment to help with bills should not be subject to VAT. Curious!!

The BBC news coverage particularly 5Live.......since when has "the ordinary person's" opinion been classified as news? I recently endured 5 minutes of interviews of people on the streets of Brixton getting their opinion on the implications of Brexit. Of course the BBC missed the obvious follow up story about the complete lack of education in the Brixton area.....

And if it's not opinions, it's some bleating story about the lack of resources in a variety of publicly funded services - of course no explanation of where these missing resources (i.e. money) will come from. In every job I've ever had we could have done with more resources but we didn't expect someone else to cough up for us.

And stories about the improving economy "despite" the prospect of Brexit.....have they ever considered that it is equally likely to be "because of" the prospect of Brexit?

Feel better now

Just when you thought they couldn't possibly be any more cringey.

"Champions of England, you'll never sing that" sing Leicester... to Sevilla!  Doh

Absolute tinpot club that I frankly can't wait to see relegated then hopefully liquidated by the Thai overlords that run the sham of a football club. Mostly feel this way due to their ridiculous fans with the above stupidity but also mostly down to the association with Gary Crisp Shagging Lineker. Absolute bellend.

F**k off and take your clappers with you LCFC, and close the door on your way out!

Start every day off with a smile and get it over with
