Town up to 14th , did our goal different some good today , 8 points from relegation and 6 points from the playoffs , still a long way to go and consistency will be key , but they way we are playing at the moment , if it continues i see no reason we cant be a top 10 team

Excellent result this afternoon. Watching the results coming up on the screen at 5pm, I thought "that can't be right!" But it was. Optimism rules, OK!

Even better that it was a clean sheet.

We even played brilliantly without having our usual 3 in midfield. Butterfield and Coady absolutely BOSSED that midfield today, ran the three of them ragged. Scannell and Bunn are making these championship full backs look like Joe Skarz, and god help him when we play rotherham.

What a superb performance, a real team effort 1-11, I like the way all the subs get on to keep the likes of Ward, peltier and Pato involved and make a contribution too.
Would have taken a point before ko but we got up and at them early shook them out of any stride and looked genuinely threatening at every break for the whole 90 mins. Only when they subbed mid 2nd half did we come under pressure, they hit the bar, missed the tap in follow up which would have made a for a tense last 15 but overall one of the best performances I can remember for yonks.
Just a pity only 12000 home fans, hopefully word will spread that it might be worth venturing back down for the occasional & floating support to give it a whirl again.
Vital week on the road any points from either venue welcome.
I think our 2 wingers are genuinely troubling teams, Antonio had to back track with Scannell and kept him occupied in the wrong half same way 2 up front ties up their back 4 from pushing on
Whatever CP and his backroom staff are doing we're getting solid performances from the likes of Lynch (maybe the assurance of Hudson alongside him) Robinson grows every game, Smithies yesterday solid a lot less errors, we're looking good.
I'm really struggling with the positivity of the last month, made me chuckle when the Glory Hunter red dogs yesterday were chanting ' we want our money back ' priceless, reality check!

Wow. Completely played them off the park. I know Forest have been struggling and to some extent they didn't help themselves but from front to back it was a great team effort and we just didn't let them play for most of the game. Well taken goals though I thought their long range shot that hit the bar was in all the way. That was the only thing they hit that beat Smithies and he stopped anything else really well that got through the defense.
Man of the match - all of them. What a turn around from the gloom of the Bornmuff match. Wow.

I'm still smiling. Not often it feels that good and there's nothing to moan about! I said we need to score AND keep a clean sheet but I never thought it would happen yesterday. I'm as pleased by the clean sheet as I am by the 3 goals. For me, the key difference is that we are defending from the front, now. Our defence still looked a bit dodgy at times, they carved us open a few times but either luck or poor decision making on their part saved us (and some excellent work by Smithies). But for so much of the time, we restricted them to possession in their own half, and when one of our attacking players lost the ball, they were immediately working to retrieve it rather than the "well that's my job done, now it's up to the defensive players to sort out the mess" attitude there seemed to be under Robins.
Excellent team performance, can't pick anyone out as better or worse than the rest, thought they were all good. Not going to get carried away, I'm just enjoying this feeling right now and taking one game at a time. I hope nobody's expectations are getting raised to an unreasonable level. But I'm a lot more positive now.
Just the atmosphere as well (although it helps when the away end is full, even though they went rather quiet for long spells of the match.) Under Robins I kept saying, "The fans don't WANT to boo, but they need to see a committed performance by the players, and if it looks like the players can't be bothered then the crowd will voice their displeasure." Yesterday we saw football that is good to watch AND effective, the crowd were responding to everything happening on the pitch, and it was just brilliant.

So we finally soar into mid-table mediocrity alongside the Wendies and only 6 points behind Norwich and Derby. Time to check the train timetables for Tuesday methinks.

They won't come out of the woodwork until we are in the top half, or top 6. They'll turn up for one match, which because we are Town, we'll lose and they'll moan all the way home, " they always lose when I come. I don't know why I bother". I tell them to stay away, occasionally in a slightly unpleasant manner, and let us regulars watch Town go unbeaten in peace. Glory hunters, who'd have 'em eh?
